Should we bring back slapping people in the face?

More people deserve to be slapped for sure, but that doesn’t mean that the ones who most deserve it will just learn their lesson from a slap or two. They will 100% resort to stabbing and shooting people in retaliation.
Read “Being Wrong” by Kathryn Schulz. Most people function under the illusion that they are never wrong, even when they know fully well that they are absolutely wrong.
I think we should resort to actual fascism. Every violent crime earns you free pass directly to public execution. No appeals, no waiting around in a cushy prison cell on the taxpayers’ dime. I’d even be willing to make ALL felonies punishable by death. Make all misdemeanors a minimum of a year in prison and a second offense automatically escalates to felony.
The ONLY reason our penal system fails is because it’s too lenient. When ONE offense could end or ruin your life, people will 100% think differently about crime. People even THINKING about crime will see their counterparts publicly executed, preferably excruciatingly, and they WILL think differently. And if they don’t, we weed them out in under a generation.
The absolute, swift and permanent mitigation of crime is the key to a secure society. Everyone just wants to pretend that humanity is somehow defined by your willingness to suffer so that criminals and deadbeats get a “fair shake”. I say that’s nonsense.

And yes definitely bring back slapping and all forms of unrestricted fist fighting

It would help solve a lot of menial problems without always needing to take things to court and making a big spectacle out of something that can be fixed with a busted lip

100% agree. I'm sick of everyone being so entitled to not getting hit. Back in the day, if you said something to someone, you had to be prepared to get hit. Nowadays, people just pull out their phones and start recording, and feel like they're invincible

Not unless you want more people to get seriously assaulted and physically injured. Slapping somebody is a good way to get punched in the mouth really hard, and a good way to get charged with assault. I have knowledge of someone who slapped another man in the face and was charged with felony assault. He may very well get convicted of it, in which case he conceivably could do some serious prison time.

Women are very prone to slapping men, or at least they used to be. Most men will respond with a punch, which will automatically get them charged with assault.
