Short term? Worse. Much worse. Long term? We shall see. History says the USA sucks at picking winners and losers in these regime change scenarios. There's no reason to believe the current cast of buffoons and ass kissers in the Cheeto Jesus administration will get it anywhere near right.

While I have no love of totalitarian Theocracies based on primitive religions, I also don't think externally imposed regime change is ever a "clean" process. And Iran is only one of the two religious Theocracies in this dumpster fire. What do we do about Israel?

But more immediately, we will soon enter the "power vacuum" phase of this political theater. What comes next? I'm positive the ass clown political leadership of the USA is incapable of comprehending the dots that need to be connected, let alone connecting them in any rational way. Get ready for the chaos that follows the chaos of battle.

And then there are the ancillary political and economic impacts of this little adventure. The Chinese buy 85% of Iranian oil exports. It's a strategic relationship for the Chinese economy and security. Venezuela was also a key energy partner for China. If we end up disrupting that energy supply chain, does China use the opportunity to seize Taiwan in retaliation? Does it push China into a closer relationship with Russia? See the dots connecting here? You may wonder if South Korea and Japan are nervous these days.

And then there's the Iranian response. Iran could never go up against the US military on a battlefield or at sea. And it's never been more true than after this war got rolling. So any response from them will come from asymmetric warfare... "terrorism" against lightly defended civilian targets of opportunity that they can leverage into propaganda and costly after the fact responses from the US and Israel. Iran has proxy groups all over the region, Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, the Gulf States, Europe, and probably the US. It would be a miracle if there is no response.

NATO? Conspicuously absent this time. The Mango Moron has squandered any goodwill the US may have had with NATO and Europe at large in advance of this adventure. No military or economic assistance will be forthcoming. Hell, they may not even be sharing intelligence information with this asshole administration at the moment. They may remain silent and smugly let the Iranians have their pound of flesh in retaliation. 5 eyes is entirely compromised at this point.

It's all connected. It gets complicated real fast, don't it?

i think it will be much of the same. the same story we've seen for the last 70 years.

non-middle eastern forces are compelled to strike the region (whether it's russia, US, etc, etc, etc) for geo-political reasons. they enter the region further disrupting an already strained situation. we play around in the sandbox for a few weeks, months, years until we are tired of the endless conflict with no progress before abandoning the region. we'll leave it as strained if not worse than it was and then gripe about how violent and unstable a place the middle east is

Considering 60% of Iranians in Iran are non-Islamic and 90% of the Iranian diaspora are non-Islamic the population will likely shift toward Christian morally for a basis for law and religion in Iran if the oppressive Islamic regime is squashed. That will improve the region and shift it towards Western ideals.

Additionally Muslims are taught by the Quran that they are suppose to be an ever expanding empire and that they are suppose to conquer the entire world and subjugate or kill all other religions. Being that they have been losing to Christian nations for several centuries they have convinced themselves that they are being punished by Allah for not being strict enough when it comes to Sharia law. This is why Islam has been so oppressive in recent history. This created one path of law for Shia Islam via Iranian jurisprudence school of thought and one path for Sunni Islam via the Muslim Brotherhood (Hamas/ISIS) school of thought. In Shia Islam the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was suppose to be the last in his line before their version of Jesus arrived to bring an end to the world with Judgement day. Not such event happened when he died, so Shia Islam has been proven false and is now collapsing. Sunni Islam is in a similar situation with the Muslim Brotherhood being declared a terrorist organization, ISIS being squashed by Trump and Hamas being squashed by Israel. So strict adherence to Sunni Islam also does not work. Allah does support Muslims because Allah is a false god. Yahweh the Judeo-Christian God is crushing them.

Islam's last hope for global domination (Globalism) is infiltration of western nation's governments via immigration and association to Islamic Freemasonry like how Adolf Hitler took over the Weimar Republic via the Thule Society and then started World War II in Europe. In America Islamic Freemasonry and associated Islamic infiltration is being rooted out like how Somali corruption is being rooted out in Minnesota and how DOGE dismantled many fraudulent programs. In Europe they are in a bit of a mess right now due to Islamic infiltration of their government and the influence of groups like the European Union, World Economic Forum, Club of Rome, United Nations, World Health Organization, etc. but time will tell if they show up to fight for their nations or get rolled by the Fourth Reich and the rise of Nazism/Islamic Freemasonry yet again and start WWIII. The world is watching...

This very ill conceived war may wind up making the world safer from the U. S. and Israel.
It will be bad for Israel and make the U. S. look weak.
Israel may fail entirely. I hope so.

It may strengthen the BRICS alliance and be very bad for the U. S. economy.
It may be bad for Gulf states and global south dictatorships that depended on U. S. money and arms because the people of some of those countries may rise up for democracy.
It may be good for the U. S. in the long run if Israel falls, its grip on the U. S. is released, traitors who had sold out to Israel are revealed, the U. S. stops being a thug and engages in friendly trade with the rest of the world as a benevolent partner.
The U. S. needs prosperity, not militarism.

I think better. Iran sponsored 4 proxy forces and there is no reason they would stop at that. With those proxy forces they have caused a lot of gray zone conflicts. Obviously they have also created very economic arms that can cause a lot of damage.

They have been able to keep in the gray zone... until now, when the chickens are coming home to roost.

That there are consequences for gray zone tactics, I think will make the world safer.

China was banking on a Russian/Iran/China war to enforce their view of world order.

With Russia falling in Ukraine, and Iran becoming rubble, there is hope that China may have second thoughts. So I think it will leave the world in a better place

Worse. I believe the war on terror is just creating new terrorists. We aligning with Israel who's idea of bombing schools and hospitals is necessary so they can feel safe and annex more land.

We are aligning with a country where their government believes they are special and deserve everything and anything they want in the middle east. It is horrible and they have convinced evangelical Christian politicians, and generals now, that we must protect and act as muscle for because... Jesus...

They literally want to start Armageddon and we the people have no say. This is their words not hyperbole.

We need religious world leaders to step up and start explaining it's not our responsibility to trigger Armageddon. We should only be trying to love each other better. It's bull shit and I'm glad I don't have kids. This world is so close to being destroyed because of narcissistic extremists.

I think it depends on if China gets involved. The whole thing sounds like bullshit to me.

If this isn't over in 2 weeks then it's because they want to drag it out in my opinion.

Their leaders were killed, who's still calling shots then? How are they still running a government and oppressing anyone?

I think we're being lied to about some really basic parts of what's going on over there.

I support Trump's decision and the Iranians are celebrating, just as the Venezuelans did. Good on him actually using the massive funds put into American military to help other nations.

Do I think it may escalate tensions between other nations, now that they know Trump will just stop all the kids from acting out? Absolutely. But it's for the greater good of the world and saving innocent people.

The nukes that Trump "totally obliterated" only a few months ago? The ones that Netanyahu has been saying for decades that Iran is only weeks away from obtaining them? Now people have to die and the economy gets dragged down for what? Achieve a nuclear deal like the one Trump cancelled a few years ago? Bringing peace and democracy like in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya,?

Yes the regime is evil but this war won't change anything other than bringing some needed distraction from other problems for Trump.

I would feel much better about it if I thought the POTUS was a sound, rational man with a strong grasp of international matters who made a decision based on solid reasoning, and had surrounded himself with competent, well-informed staff instead of gross sycophants.

It is going to make the world worse, and in fact, it already arguably has. The war has already made the world worse through higher energy prices, disrupted global trade, regional instability, financial uncertainty, and humanitarian damage—even before considering the potential long-term consequences.

no conflict of this nature makes things better or worse...

it only makes things better and worse, in a different way... which is still bad, as there's no significant nor substantial change

Worse. Bombs don't bring democracy and peace. They didn't in Iraq, Afghanistan or Vietnam and they won't do it here. People are dying and the economy is getting dragged down. Everything just because someone needed a giant distraction maneuver.

Better but for a while. However it has proven the fact that the USA increasingly is alone and without allies. In the long run this will hurt the USA. The world views the USA as a "rouge state" more and more.

Everything is up in the air right now. Maybe in a week or so we will be able to get more information about the people in Iran and if they will get better leadership or not. They might end up with another evil person in charge of their lives.🤷🏼‍♀️

It'll temporarily make it better. I mean, look at all the Iranian a**holes that have died already. But longterm it'll make it worse. Because those people over there never learn anything. They just file that away in their list of 1000 year grudges. C'mon, they have kids just to sacrifice them for their grudges. And they wonder why they never get ahead.🤦‍♂️

It make oil and liquid natural gas more expensive, since Asian markets which get most oil and liquid gas over Strait of Hormuz will be forced to buy stuff elsewhere.

The Iranian leaders have this troubling apocalyptic 12th Imam Belief where they want a nuclear war to bring back the 12th Imam. They also need to destroy, “Kill” every infidel. I hate war because it wastes lives but this had to be done.
