It would be killing the golden goose
“We need to prepare to defend against Iran’s nuclear weapons”
Is the favorite excuse to get defense and military fundings in the billions every year
Without an enemy there’s no reason to have that and a large part of the American economy is built around armaments
The same is true for Israel and Iran itself
These countries need each other as enemies to justify robbing their own people.
So I don’t think any side will truly break apart the status quo23 Reply- 1 y
That’s the thing about geopolitics though
We the people are always seeing events 5 moves behind
The fact that they’re willing to bomb the nuclear sites means they already have a continuity plan for the future
Also my point was about the total destruction of Iran not a bombing run that will only spark flames

1 yWhen Trump says it's a 50/50 situation then for once I believe him. On one side he's a wanna be dictator and looking up to his best buddy Putin and would love to show off his military power. On the other side his Maga supporters are strictly against an involvement for the most part and Nethanyau didn't give a fuck about his negotiation plans and we all know how Trump feels about this like that.
21 ReplyWell he just bombed Iran's nuclear site a couple of hours ago. I mean that's what there is on the news.
I wouldn't put it past them. Old habits die hard, or maybe not at all. As for implications... Just the usual, where the only "winners" are the profiteers and it's almost a zero sum game for everyone else.

1 yIn their present state, the U. S. rather will:
- ban Iran (from doing... what?)
- will deport Iran to, let's say, Iran
- and Republicans and Democrats will blame one another ( for what, is unclear )
The implications for all us others:
- China will laugh
- Russia will silently sack Finland or so
- Europe will roll it's eyes and raise eyebrows
- Africa will not even know what's going on
- Japan will continue doing what they already do
- Australia and New Zealand will be unaffected and also be relatively disinterested
- Israel will support the U. S. and accidentally confuse Palestine with Iran
- Elton John will come up with a new song about this
24 ReplyI forgot South America (and Greenland)
They will either play soccer, or deal with their own typical problems.- 1 y
Elton John 😂
... update: admitted, I wasn't right. Which still doesn't make me wrong. I will now keep looking out for Finland and Israel. And roll my eyes :)

u 1 yI think it is more probably that they do than they will not...
it is the perfect opportunity for the USA to set a precedent... it could do it in a more precise and quick way if they assist the efforts of others, rather than doing them by themselves or starting it
the USA is an interventionist nation, and a war-fueling nation as well.. one way or another they always get involved, and always seek benefit and profit, one way or another and... that's just the USA way, whether we agree with it or not... it is one of the best money makers for the States61 Reply - 3.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 yGood question. I am not sure. Israel attacked to take out their nuclear facilities for their own self preservation. I'm not 100% sure why that involves us at all. Just let Israel take care of it. How does this have anything to do with us in any way?
I have read that some of the facilities are underground and Israel may not be able to get them those and we have the bunker bombs that could. I don't know for sure if we could just give them the bombs or can only our planes drop them.
20 Reply I hope so but I doubt it. Trump has been saying "I'll make a decision in two weeks." with Ukraine since he took office months ago and he said the same thing about Israel. I'm hoping Iran does something stupid and force his hand but it's unlikely in my opinion which means Trump is going to chicken out as always like the little bitch he is.
11 ReplyThis is a very sticky situation for our President. One the one hand Israel and AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) to which most American politicians instinctively bend the knee, vs Vladimir Putin who get a lot of arms from Iran. Is it any wonder he's hesitant? He's between a rock and a hard place. Frankly the longer he does nothing the better, as far as I'm concerned.

1 ySo far we have no reason to strike Iran. We are supplying Israel with intelligence in the form of targeting information and early warning of attacks. We can just let our proxy (Israel) do the fighting for us
And Iran probably does not want to give us a reason to get into the fight. They don’t need 2 superior air powers pummeling them day and night.
But our Imbecile In Chief is always a wild card. His buffoonery could get us involved on a whim.
11 Reply- 1 y
Well there's the answer. Iran did nothing to provoke the USA. But our Man Baby Imbecile In Chief had Iran bombed to entertain himself and satisfy his own pathetically weak ego. This wasn't a military move. It wasn't political strategy or diplomacy. It was theater from a brain damaged cult leader.
So he was gonna get us out of the war business. Nope Ukraine is still raging. Gaza is still a disaster. And now we're at war with Iran.
He was gonna bring down the deficit and balance the budget. But his Big Beautiful Budget Deal just added $4 trillion to our deficit to give tax cuts to billionaires. Now we'll probably spend another $4 trillion on regime change in Iran. And MAGA is rapidly pivoting to defend the imbecile who lied to them over and over again.

1 yAmerica will not strike Iran.
If this happens: We get sucked into another Middle Eastern conflict that we pour billions of dollars into, we put our service men stationed in the region at risk, raise oil prices for all, and America be known as an imperialist country not one of peace, liberal values, and negotiating force willing to compromise.
This is not good foreign policy.13 Reply- 1 y
*Look up Oxford Languages Definition of ‘Liberal’ and read it good.
I identify as Progressive, though Liberal isn’t a bad thing. I want my country to be Liberal. - 1 y
@MisterWack Agreed and Trump lies yet again if he says no wars. Add that to the list.
Regarding the actually definition of Liberal, I also agree. I unfortunately think the word has been completely demonized and redefined to fit a completely socialist and communist right wing narrative to divide citizens. - 1 y
@Friendlybro79 Agreed.

1 ylikely. how long they've been dealing with this issue? how do you trust Iran and your own intelligence that sayd they do't have a weapon?
Israel pushing for a bombing.
no way does he let that stuff sit there in harms way while thinking for 2 weeks... it's bs. they are negotiating behind the scenes, hopefully they come up with something to avoid further risks.
10 Reply 27.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I do not think so. President Trump is giving Iran another two weeks to think about it. Iran has already lost most of it's air defense system and most of it's missile launching capabilities. Israel will continue the bombing and I think President Trump thinks that it will be over before the US has to get involved.

I don’t advocate any of this and whoever.
The massive problem in which everyone, for or against, is Iran has dangerous ally’s and it really could get messy, as well as drawing in numerous countries.
I think that there is a little bit of hidden irony within this subject and that is somebody mentioning earlier in the week about when World War three will happen?
They gave three guesses:
1, 10 years,
2, 5 years,
3, 3 years.
In 2002 Netanyahu was one of those people who lied in order to convince Congress that Saddam had WMD. His lies are also prompting tRump to consider invading Iran. Knowing how right wingers and their supporters love war in order to generate more war profits, it would not surprise me in the least if Washington DC launches another invasion.
Oh by the way, last year as part of his campaign tRump pledged to rid Washington DC of ALL pro war types.
Ironic, ain't it?

Do your homework --- the IAEA said there is no proof Iran was pursuing nukes:
truthout.org/.../
www.cnbctv18.com/.../...um-enrichment-19623562.htm
Iran has not violated any law. But your heroes tRump and imperialist liar Netanyahu have done so.
Since 1995 your criminally racist hero Netanyahu has said Iran was on the verge of creating nukes:
www.jfeed.com/.../netanyahu-iran-nuclear-program-strikes
to this day he has not presented a shred of evidence to prove his criminal claim
Only drugged up delusionals believe his and tRump's garbage lies.
1 yAs much as America loves the mutual boot kisses between Trump and Netanyahu, they’d be idiots to get involved with Iran and start another war. Again.
10 Reply12.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Only the Fordow nuclear site.
The world will be relieved that a terror state doesn't have a nuclear weapon. Once they do, the entire world would change. No non-shia state would be safe

21 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. A surgical strike is possible, but I'm not sure. I know most people, including the Iranians, have no idea what Trump will do. That is his strongest card, and he is using it well so far

lol well you live on earth so… if messed up people mess it up for others and they’re big enough they’ll want to mess it up for everyone. Every country can’t turn eyes away cause those who want to do wrong, if they get away with it, will do more wrong, and there’s no limit to greed. Or regulation on stupidity lol
I was just annoyed with people saying “America won’t do it” like some thing about cowardice. Instead of morals or logic. So now that the fox is in the hen house, I wonder what other people will say, including “uninvolved” countries. Especially if a world war breaks out. Thats just my line of logic on this matter specifically. But fingers crossed not many will have to die for progress to be made, and respect to be upheld. - 1 y

Alright well worse case scenario your household gets blown up too. Sorry you feel that uncaring about your own life or the life of others. 🤷♀️ That’s a you problem and therapist issue.
But you as a non political person are entirely entitled to your opinion of “DUmB” in regard to government relations.
But I agree. I think ANY weaponry violence by ANY country is dumb as FUCK. :]
and what remains left is whether everyone gets blown up or not. Let’s see shall we? Feel better also. One SHOULD exercise a bit more consideration for their fellow humans and have a little value and self worth for their own life. Alright best to you. ✌️
It’s highly probable, But considering that Iran is very good friends with Russia, it’s not a good idea!

This is pretty valid logic. But if there’s other powers in play attacking other countries unprovoked. Doing nothing is just as bad as doing the wrong. No one is safe when one country wants to govern over others. The greed will have no limits. So eventually they’ll come for you and your country. If no country puts them at a halt.
Opinion Owner1 y@Rosexøxø Yes, when they come for us and our country, that's when we show them who's boss.
- 1 y
I can’t believe you think USA is the enemy lol but anyways no one is boss in a planet with many other people existing on it, who all die around age 80-90, and with climate temps changing drastically. Guns doesn’t put food in your mouth. Blowing up a living thing doesn’t put food in your mouth. What I’m saying it doesn’t solve any real issue. But whatever you speak for your country. I have nothing else to say to you personally. Sure there are others in your country would be much nicer to befriend/do exchanges with.
Opinion Owner1 y@Rosexøxø "Show them who's boss" is merely an expression. Ideally, I'd like to see all nations getting along with each other. I also believe that wildly changing climate temps in various places could be the Earth rebelling against the sins of mankind, and not merely because of the fact that many people exist on this planet.
