Do you feel the need to increase your self defense training or carry legal weapons?

So I see that society is lax as usual on protecting people and helping the cockroaches do whatever they want. The horror/torture for 8 hours of a local women in my town happened at a hotel that I go get a salad at while waiting to go to my appointment. I wrote the hotel a letter letting them know that the lighting in the corridors is too dim and if anything went down then it would be hard to ID a suspect. No response and change as usual. This crime happened 4 years before I wrote this letter.

I live in an area where I have never locked the doors to my little house when I leave and I leave the keys in my jeep when I go to the local store. We do often carry a gun in the vehicles but it's in case of rabid critters or hitting a deer or something along those lines.

I trained in MArts, if in a bad conflict I'd run. Most Id lose.

I trained to use a firearm. I need another year of training to be so effective as to not get myself or others killed in some extreme scenario.

So yea, I think risks are up. We had home invasion in the area not long ago... an armed one. Hopefully its the only one. Car jackings etc.. But guess what, if I shoot one of those guys and violate law, I go to jail. My state is as liberal as a gay tooth ferry that takes your teeth and leaves pixy dust. So I'm not convinced it's worth doing the training vs just dying on the spot at this point, in the rare scenario.

Yes, absolutely. I never part with my pepper spray if I have to walk anywhere, and I even carry a knife hitting the legal blade length limit for a good measure. I have also devised a few ways to defend myself with a flashlight (a strobo mode in particular could be effective in the evenings) and a lighter. I am also planning to get into boxing or judo classes for more hands-on self-defense. Unfortunately, living in Poland, I have no way of getting my hands on as much as a handgun... It would greatly increase my self-defense capacity.

I hardly ever leave my house and I live in a very safe neighborhood. But I am a bit nervous walking outside late at night and would probably feel safer with some kind of weapon, like a spray. Most of it is illegal here though.

I don't know if self-defense training would make much of a difference. I've never been very good at sports.

I took a basic firearms safety course where they taught you how to index and shoot isosceles, clean and take apart a pistol.

Then I just spent time studying different stances and stuff. Between YouTube, being friends with people who know better etc.

I'm probably going to get my carry permit soon. And carry something on my because I'd rather have it and never use it then need it and not have it.

Yes, it's a pathetic commentary on the human condition. I keep hiding pepper spray and various guns on my person ashamed that someone might get a glimpse if the disgusting gear I have to tote around. Too bad about what the hippies said about wearing flowers in your hair. That would be better than a Glock under your jacket I feel really bad about it but everyone around me has the same shit stuffed in their boot or in their belt somehow. We walk around stinking like gun oil. It sucks.

Nope. I'm plenty lethal and armed for most threats along with years of experience. Not something I worry about much. The best defense is to never place yourself in a bad situation where deadly force is necessary.

No, too much liability when it comes to guns but I did buy a Belgian Malinois for protection. Much better. Great companion and very intelligent.

you could complain to the health dept? don't they do safety? figure out which board it is and then threaten him again. give him a certain amount of days to fix it so he has time. i know. it's been 4 years. but this way it's serious.

if he doesn't respond to that. then it's obvious something shady is going on. the cops probably know about it and they can't do anything about it. it would be a waste of time to stake out a motel for a long time. so if, and when this happens again, they'll say ok.
