+1 yThis is going to be hard to read, but bare with me... (See what I did there? Lol)
Here is why I highly suggest that ÊVÊRYBÔDY should educate themselves on firearms, and then purchase them after. We can never fully restrict a criminal from getting a gun. Not even legally.
If a criminal wants to achieve something against the law to have, then they will break the law to get it, or find alternative means that will get the job done, whatever they are doing.
Also, in the US it is actually illegal to put any legal restriction on any US Citizen for firearm ownership.
The second amendment clearly states, that the right to a well regulated state militia (police and armed forces) as well as the right to bare arms, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
The definition to the word INFRINGE, means to LIMIT, OR UNDERMINE.
Meaning you cannot limit the ownership or undermine the right to own firearms in the US, Legally.
And as stated in the case of Marbury vs Madison in 1803,
"All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void. Every law consistent with the Constitution will have been made in pursuance of the powers granted by it. Every usurpation or law repugnant to it cannot have been made in pursuance of its powers"
And due to you right to a fair trial, you can beat the case of gun ownership, and shouldn't get a double jeapordy for gun ownership again.
However, if you kill somebody, you will be tried for capitol crimes against the freedoms and natural rights of man. And you will fight for your right to be free, to the skin of your teeth.00 Reply

I think for American's it's always a good thought this, Just cause amendments were made some time ago don't mean these amendments have thought about what the future would bring or anything that could complex them. The founding fathers were not thinking back then oh yeah the future will have really easy to use guns that can have good fire rates.
Laws are due to change over time and circumstances. So the whole patriotic route of it's just are rights. Is a really bad argument for anyone who wants to build a better society through debates and change.
The problem with guns i see is, Is once an structure is there, that allows guns to be accessed is becomes so much easier for the public to sell them in dodgy way's then they end up in the wrong hands nvm that it can just from them buying the offical route. And in reality your never gonna stop that unless you destroy that structure.
And sure criminals will try build there own structure of smuggling in guns without it been easier due to government. But the point is, it will be harder if the government do there job.00 Reply

+1 yWe have a couple of guns at home for work and hunting but I'd never ever carry one for protection. They're dangerous tools not something to carry to boost your confidence. The main problem with self defence is it's too easy to make a rash stupid decision under pressure and kill someone for a minor confrontation. Someone starts shouting abuse and suddenly you feel the need to point a gun to shut them up. Then you kill them over something as minor as name calling.

Exactly, a woman doesn't need a gun if she has a good man by her side.
I carry a concealed handgun most of the time. I live in an urban area and where I work is not in the best neighborhood, so I like having something to protect myself with. Whether or not someone should carry is a personal choice. I’m all for people exercising their 2nd Amendment rights as long as they’re responsible with the weapon.

I understand, i rather see a woman with a gun than without one if she's alone, that's for sure.

If you're comfortable carrying one and want too carry, then do it. However, if you're not comfortable don't and if you don't know how to carry safely don't.
I always carry one on me and usually have another close by, but I was raised knowing how to safely carry, and I have children and it's my job to protect them.33 Reply- +1 y
True and your a woman which makes it all the more reasonable but I'm a man and at that I'm a black man living in a predominantly white area. Even with one I wouldn't feel safe carrying it around with me to be frank. It's not myself I don't trust it's others even unarmed and not dangerous.

I don't know what to say, except I hate that you feel like that, and that sucks. There is always the option (and better in my opinion) to carry concealed. It's certainly easier for you to carry concealed as a man. Just be safe, and if you got pulled over or anything of that nature, I always immediately tell them "hey I've got a gun on my side and one wherever the other one is" before I go digging for my license or anything. That way the officer and I are on the same page and there aren't any surprises you know. But whatever choice you make, be careful out there and stay safe. It's a beautiful world but it can be crazy.
No, and yes.. I don't have one but I will get one because it's apart of our second amendment right, and because it's nice to have some protection in case anything happens.. I don't trust the government much and although I sort of support police they are just apart the state and not given the ability to be as reliable these days.. Some people here act like guns are the problem.. No criminals are the problem.. So, if you wanna feel more secure. It's good to have protection always..

That's kinda how I've been feeling I'm generally pretty good at descalting situations but at the same time like there's not telling what could happen what if I can't descalate a situation I might need that. Especially since a lot of people do t use they hands anymore they jump straight to weapons.
504 opinions shared on Other topic. On a good day, the average police response time to a 911 call is at least 5 minutes. Even someone who is unpracticed can draw a concealed handgun in a few seconds. Of the people who have gotten licenses for CHL, less than half actually carry them on a regular basis, so even if you live in a stereotypically "pro-gun" area, you can't count on those around you to bail you out, either.
Bottom line: yes.10 Reply- 376 opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 yProperly trained persons over 16 who have undergone a mental health screening and have not criminal history should be encouraged to own a gun and in fact should get a tax deduction of up to $500 for their first gun and ammo purchase. My ancestor was so trained when he joined a group of volunteers at 16 and fought the British in 1777.

+1 yNo, and no.
Nobody needs a gun. I live in a country with tight gun control, and it's great. I don't need a gun because nobody else has one. The reversal, citing needing a gun because other people have one is a circular argument.112 Reply- +1 y

"You live in a country where if they decided to start a totalitarian regimes you would have no defense.. "
Neither do you.
Your little peashooter isn't going to do anything against guys in full military gear and tanks. Sorry to burst that little fantasy of yours. - +1 y
"Neither do you."
Well actually we do.. You can still kill a man with "peashooters".. 😂😂.. Also there's more people than there are military.. There's millions of Americans with guns more powerful than peashooters.. Unlike where you live.. Where you are solely reliant on the government with absolutely no defense.. Try again. - +1 y
@JDavid25
At best you down a few soldiers, then they massacre you and the rest of the idiots who thought they could go up against an organised military.
Regimes don't just... randomly march into the street anyways. By the time you take up arms, they're already /in office/, that's how it works. This is a fantasy scenario your ilk repeatedly dream up. You've seen too many movies. - +1 y
Like I mentioned that's better than having no defense.. And it's not like there wouldn't be soldiers on the side of the civilians... You didn't really think that one through.. And it's also much better than just being beholden to the damn government and having absolutely no defense and all of your trust in them.. Like I mentioned America has over 330 million people.. Most of them are not in the military.. Many would die yes, but it's better than just bending over.. 😌..
- +1 y
@JDavid25
Soldiers who don't do their jobs... aren't soldiers very long.
Did you just... not learn about things like WWII? Like, do you think every Nazi soldier agreed with the orders they carried out? That's simply not how it works.
So... Your argument is you'd rather take up arms in a fight you'll definitely lose, than actually solve the problem of a corrupt government. Alright, to each their own, I guess.
Truthfully what would end up happening, is that this fantasy rogue US government would massacre the would-be heroes. And it would be the armed forces of Canada and Europe that would come to your aid. It wouldn't be fixed from the inside. - +1 y
Haha yeah it's almost like not all will agree to side with the oppressive Government..
And well here in America we believe in more freedom.. It's not like socialist Germany at the time.. There's plenty of soldiers who wouldn't follow those orders.. Just like not all policeman followed the orders to shut down people's businesses here in America..
And you can't solve the problem if a corrupt government.. You know what people like Hitler, Hugo Chavez, and Castro did before they made their countries communist dictatorships? They made sure the people had no way to protect themselves if the government overstepped their bounds.. Our founding fathers put it as a right that people should be able to protect themselves should the government overstep their bounds.
I don't know how the fight would turn on should U. S civilians take up arms against an oppressive Government.. but it's better than saying "Oh, well I relinquish my freedoms, to feel safe understand the Government" which is exactly what you are doing.. And considering the U. K has less freedoms than the U. S in general I don't think you are the best person to listen to about this.. - +1 y
@JDavid25
"Haha yeah it's almost like not all will agree to side with the oppressive Government.. "
... Yes. That was exactly my point. - +1 y
Yeah of course.. Well in the end there's A few million U. S Soldiers and many millions of U. S gun owners, many if whom know how to use a gun well. Including former army veterans. There's 400 million guns in the U. S and at the very least half a country that would be ready to fight.. I would out my odds on the side with millions more people despite the weapons the military has.
- +1 y
@JDavid25
It would be a lot less than half a country.
I'm still not convinced you've understood my WWII point. - +1 y
You wouldn't need half the country.. Just enough people.. Still would be much more than the U. S Military.. And no I got your WWII point. A soldier follows orders and all that.. And yeah most probably would follow orders.. Depends on if they have a collectivist mindset or if they really think like an individual and not fall to propaganda.. History does repeat itself many times..

America has some really friendly people here who will give their life and bust the balls out from between their own legs, just so you can have a safe and happy life as a free American citizen here in the States. The majority of us would give our lives up so you can be here happily. Hell, we would take you to the gun range and let you shoot our own guns so you can become familiar with these, so you are unafraid. You often learn it's not the object it's the person welding it. What is that persons intentions?
And it's not like you really see them all like that, it's not like everybody carries.
