Government policies affect society and thus choice. Many people will say they make their own decisions but choices are made because people have preference for a certain outcome. These preferences can easily be effected by things like inflation, war, job opportunity, the housing market, and general ideal about society like hope or a lack of hope. These are all things government can easy effect with policy.

There’s also something called the butterfly effect. Great movies but also a scientific theory. It states that one action can have an effect on other completely unrelated things. For example government adds tariffs which ruins some guys business so he loses his mind and kills his wife and kids. His wife was a therapist so any lives she would have saved will now kill themselves without her intervention. One of these suicides is a guy that would have eventually cured cancer. The further out you get the wider range of people effected but it’s difficult to play for these situations.

So yes I do believe the government can have an effect on birth rate but it’s not as easy as making one law saying women have to give birth unless you enforce it with enough force to maintain the law.

To be honest with you, I don't need to agree or disagree. It's their choice. They are the ones doing it. It's only their business. The reasons for doing it or the reasons not for doing it. And you have to say, great, I respect your honesty, and that's all you can say you cannot put somebody down for wanting or not wanting to have kids, that's ridiculous. Who is?
Anybody to say anything to anybody about that? They're wrong so I can never get myself to do that I could tell you the pros and the cons of having them and not having them And then I could tell you the pros and the cons about where our world is headed and why in the world would you want to have children in time like this sure I can do all that stuff, but to tell somebody or put somebody down for their choice, they make no, that's ridiculous and uncalled. For

to be honest, finding the right guy to having kids is actually not that important.

Plenty of CEOs, vice presidents, presidents grew up without fathers.

Kamala Harris, bill clinton, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Barack Obama, JD vance.

you don't need a husband to have kids. As long as you have enough money, enough support from family such as aunts/ uncles/ grandparents, that would be enough to raise child.

I have watched so many women who thought they were with the right guy have kids only to regret it later because instead of just the kids she gave birth to, she also has to raise the man she married and take care of him. The social issues are huge and just as imperative as the financial ones

Most women who don't want to have children would probably be bad mothers and it better that they not have kids. Women who insist on becoming single mothers are blind to the reality of being a single parent, but I do think the government should not subsidize women who repeatedly have children they cannot afford.

I disagree, the government can teach women that not having kids is a bad thing, and the government can also give a lot of bonuses to women who have kids.

If you're talking about the USA, those numbers don't apply anymore. Once close to 20% back in the early 70's, the birth rate now in the USA is 11.9%. Also, 2025 marked the first time since the Great Depression, approximately 92 years, that more people moved out of the USA than moved in to it. How's that for being great?

I dont care if you have kids. I don't want to pay for anything since a lot of new parents can't afford having kids. So this means no state or government funds or ebt or wic. You have to have money already saved. I know I am not the only one thinking this.

They'll do it for money actually. :) The Australian gov't offered a baby bonus and that increased births by 6.5% with lasting effects.

Agree and I support the 20 percent of women who choose not to have kids. Having kids isn't an achievement for a woman, only a huge burden.
