Will the current Iran crisis affect midterm elections?

I think it will, and it depends on the outcome...

If Iran get's set into motion quickly and we move on the Cuba... It's going to be good stuff. Either way, Russia don't have it's drones for Ukraine and China is going to shut up about attacking Taiwan at this point.

If it starts to look like another "Forever war" ... well, that is when even I'll will start reminding people that Trump promised he wasn't going to do that. It's only been what... like 5 days?

No matter what Trump does, the Left and it's media is going to hate him... that portion of our population isn't going to change. But they have very short term thinking... they hate that we're attacking Iran now and have already forgotten about swipping Maduro and giving intel to Mexico to get El Mencho popped. Basically if the Iran thing ends in the next couple weeks and then we're putting Cuba's leadership's nutts in a vice, the left will suddenly be pro-Cuban dictatorship and will forget all about Iran in a matter of days.

@strateguy632 Exactly... notice that it was only a few days after the Iran thing started... Russia started talking about a peace deal. And Taiwan... China was getting something like 80% of it's oil supply from Iran. They can't worry about Taiwan if they have no gas.

well it will if republican candidates come out strongly in favor of the conflict.

we know most americans are against military deployment and specifically about 2/3 of American are against the current military campaign in the middle east. so republicans will have to either

1. hope trump gets this right and soon so they'll have something to brag about on the campaign trail

2. make a decision on how to position themselves in their respective campaigns with consideration of how their voters feel and what loyalties they have to the head of the republican party (donald trump)

Pretty sure that other factors like the Greenland saga have affected it more.
A war against Iran has been brewing for decades and could have happened under Kamala as well in which case republicans would now oppose it and democrats defend it.

Support for the war is currently at 32%. Oil went up 35% in 1 week. UAE and Kuwait cut oil production and Qatar plans on shutting down oil production next week if the war doesn't end soon. Only half of non-MAGA Republicans support this war. It probably won't make much of a difference because I think the outcome in the midterms is a foregone conclusion.

It's unlikely it will have any effect on each party's base supporters. It may cause some Independents to vote more Democrat, which may be offset by more Iranian-Americans voting Republican.

It really depends on what happens in Iran after the bombing stops.

It will favor the democrats because too many don't think killing terrorists is a good thing anymore.
Reality is America needed another 9/11 and they'd have the votes but because they didn't get that, they're complacent thinking since they do not perceive a threat nor care about those being killed in Iran by such terrorist rule.

I think it will be in favor of democrats. I only say so because the oil industry is freaking out over Iran and the uninformed voter will just see gas prices shoot up and think Trump did it to spite the people. If Trump doesn't smush the Iranian regime and reestablish the oil source or create a new one, I think that would be a pretty big disadvantage.

Its in someone's favour but too early to tell. If the terror regime gets toppled and Iran is liberated its in favour of republicans.

If it continues as a protracted conflict and oil prices get even higher its in favour of democrats.

Yeah, but which direction? A lot can happen between now and November. I remember after success of Desert Storm in 1990 it was believed that President George H. W. Bush was a lock to be re-elected. Then the recession hit. Even if the United States topples Iran's regime (and that's a big if) I don't see it being a clean functioning country by November. But stranger things have happened.

This will be another win for President Trump. The rise in gas prices will be resolved in a few months and the economy, already strong will get even stronger.

Sure there are. You're not there yet. Anything can happen, like martial law or some other "national emergency". On top of that, Dominion, the company that sued Fox and won $750 million dollars, was bought by a former GOP operative named Scott Leiendecker. He renamed it Liberty Vote and claims he purchased it so there would be "free and honest elections". Right.

Liberty Vote is used heavily in 27 states. I don't doubt for a moment they would be tampered with if the GOP was flailing in the polls. Anyway, time will tell is there will be any mid-terms.
