“Reinstated”? The draft was never decommissioned. The sole purpose of selective service registration is to keep a running tabulation of young men to be fed to the military industrial complex.
It won’t work. Appropriately aged young men are all pacifists, sissies, entitled tw*ts, lazy bums, or wholly opposed to any establishment that would send them to war. Hell, after 9/11/01 they had to raise the maximum enlistment age in order to get enough bodies for the grinder. That was a quarter of a century ago. Unless they expect to recruit senior citizens for the war, the draft isn’t going to support any meaningful war effort.

@Wodens_Apprentice it's possible that america was too big to unite. it is an empire, but 50 little countries is better. we could have an alliance, but no fed. just state and local. i think we'd get rid of a lot of corruption and taxpayer theft when things are more accountable. off in washington isn't easily accessible, so back to 50 at least, but we could do groupings of states eventually after agreements and a new north america would take shape. we'd definitely need to do something about mexico as a united country first though.

@Wodens_Apprentice to get to the root of the problem the federal government must be dismantled entirely and then built back up. we would need a temporary state government to rule instead but just for awhile. i think this adjustment will show us that we don't really need a federal government and it was the biggest problem that we had. depending on how well the state governments do, the reunification might be partial. like you can opt into the federal government like when it was forming. most blue states don't need the federal government. that might be all 50 this November?

Ukraine has received $186 billion since 2022, which makes them number one. In some years past, it was Iraq or Afghanistan. But none of those countries do/did military R&D with us, Israel does.

As for "free" healthcare, our European allies have not only had their defense subsidized by us for decades, they also have had their pharma spending subsidized by US taxpayers. And many of them have free university tuition, indirectly subsidized by the US as well. Are you going to complain about the European countries that have "free" healthcare and university tuition?

I was of draft age during Vietnam. I registered and got a high draft number. Numbers 1 through 100 were drafted. Yes, I will fight if drafted. My Dad enlisted during WWII.
