What does it really mean to be a simple person to you?

Are they basic in terms of intelligence, as well as traditional and living simple lives, or do they just want simple lives?

Being simple in the way I think of being simple has nothing to do with one's intelligence.

I've been called very complex by great friends who see themselves as being simple.
I see them as 'simple', as well.
Very intelligent, but simple.

Those 'simple', wonderful people, as best I'm able to determine, self-admittedly, have not had a great deal of trauma in their lives.

I've had way more than my share of trauma in my life.
That's okay.
I'm handling it.

My 'simple' friends also agree that my complexity is due to much trauma.

For me, it is being who I am and who I have always have been. I can have a taste of the good life but I won’t cater to snobs or pretending to be someone I am not as that isn’t who I am. I know who I am and my needs are modest even if I spend a lot on vacations, dinners and toys. You can have higher end fun but not change as a person.

If need be, I could crash on a couch or a floor and not have attitude about it. Conversely, I can be in a large suite on a cruise ship with a Butler and not have attitude about it. Same with a 5 star hotel with a Butler. (by the way, Butlers are way overrated).

Do you mean simple as in stupid, simple as in low-maintenance, or simple as in plain?

For me, simple means not getting caught up in the hurley burley of society. Sure I like nice stuff, but I don't buy stuff I don't need. I don't try to be something I'm not to impress other people; they can like who I am or not. I try to do things that take me forward and avoid things that hold me back. I remove toxic people from my life and focus my love on the people that deserve it. That sort of thing.

According to me a simple person is one who is content with what they have, if they have less they don't worry about more or if they have more they don't brag about it. If talking in financial or economic sense.
In terms of nature a simple person is one who is not needy wanting more and happy with basic things and not recluse as well where they are not attached to anything.

It could mean they have a low IQ or someone that does not find material things important and owns very few things.

They mean don't buy luxury cars nor luxury sofas just find recycled clothes.

They live a simple life. Not many amenities but not a lot of pressure either.

Minimal living, just enough financial to live comfortably.
