You must make a difference between the government of a country and the people of this country, for example you can see the government of Turkey has ties with Israel but at the same time the people really hate them, is it confusing? Yes, is it logical? Kinda because how the world runs on benefits more than emotions, the governments will take the American aid with a huge smile and be grateful for it meanwhile the people doesn't like the foreign policy of the US and how they give themselves the right to govern the world like it's theirs and get rid of any risen power that may will disturb the control of the US on it, such as China and Russia and now Iran because they want to control the strait of Hormuz and grow their influence in the middle east, not gonna say that they have the right to do it or how bad or good they are but the natural thing is to have a geopolitical clash between the US and any other country that want to be a huge powerhouse of it's region.
