In an ideal world, would women work regular jobs or stay home?

Obviously women should have the right to work at whatever job they wish, but in an ideal world, do women actually work regularly?

It depends on what the needs of the family are, and what your personal talent and wish is. Sometimes, a woman taking care of 3 children is cheaper than a day care taking care of 3 children. Sometimes a day care isn't willing to take in a child as young as the mother's new born and she has to care for them until she can find somebody willing to care for them. Sometimes the husband's income is not enough to support the family and the mother must work as well to financially support the children they have. So it depends whether your largest need is time and care or whether your largest need is income and health insurance.

Depends on how you define “ideal” in this scenario. Ideally, we wouldn’t be living under the thumb of capitalism, doomed to work until we die, so if your ideal world means work is optional then nobody would work, women included. Or if you mean “ideal” in the sense that nobody is barred from anything and rights are universal, then women wouldn’t feel ashamed, excluded, or unwanted in any field of work.

It is wild so many women want to work.

When it is the easiest EVER... they want to work.

Women had to WORK... start fires from scratch to cook, wash clothes by hand, make bread from scratch, wash clothes by hand, make their own clothes, make candles and soap, spin wool, preserve food, care for kids. Farm environment.

Now... HVAC, gas/electric stoves, refrigerators and freezers, vacuums, washing machines, ready wear clothes in stores and grocery store with ENDLESS food.

Then they are opressed... need to work. Not be a "slave" to all the machines that do EVERYTHING.

If women don't want to raise children, men should not marry them. If the men don't either, best to cohabitate to avoid career and financial destruction. 80% of all divorces are filed by women. And 50% of all marriages end in divorce So your odds on wedding day of her divorcing you are 1 in 4. About like a roadside IED.

In an ideal world, nobody has to work and in the future that might be more of a reality. Not in our future but in our grandkids or great grandkids future. Because AI is going to take over most jobs. The jobs we would have to do is just monitor them to make sure they are doing the right thing.
