Why does eugenics happen in this world?

It’s disturbing for someone to say that someone mentally disabled should be sterilized and never have kids because of their disability because think that they can’t look after them. Why do they say this and try to take away the disabled person’s right to have kids? I’m disgusted by this!

It's a noble idea to think society will care for those handicapped ones in some way but I think every society has capacity limits in this matter.
The real question is this responsible to give birth to a child when you know you can't carry for it and you know society where you're living is overburden with people who seek for welfare. (immigrants, disabled, people who don't want to care for themselves..) This a little bit welfare might be not enough for all of them.
This is the socio economic part.

Of course people with specific diseases are likely to give those diseases to further generations. This is the eugenics part. There are a lot of disabled people who don't have fu.. up DNA as well and their children won't be handicapped. Here we have different approaches to this problem, some emotional ones other pragmatic. Your disgust is emotional one.

Honestly I wouldn't be want to be the person in Sparta who examinated newborns and decided which one can life and which one don't.

Being disabled does not make you worthless but mocking people for things they cannot control and did not choose for themselves makes the mocker worthless.

Truthfully, being a parent is the hardest job that there is, It depends on the disability. Something like dyslexia and not a big deal but other more severe disabilities can effect the parenting process.
