Why did Boy Scouts have to go co-ed while Girl Scouts stayed girls-only?

Seems unfair. I want to know because this happens a lot. Male only spaces get destroyed or are forced to accept women, but women only spaces aren't required to do the same.

The only place you see the opposite happen is women's sports being forced to accept men.

To be fair, the GSA is awful.

From what I can tell from having my sister in it, all they do is sell cookies and teach girls that they are perpetual victims of the abstract concept of "patriarchy." They rarely ever learn anything useful and they go on a weekend camping trip once a year while the BSA did it as a monthly thing.

I watched my sister's troop perform presentations and at least half of them bitched about the wage gap even though they were like preteens and were too young to have a job to see for themselves.

So I don't blame them for wanting a more BSA method of running things but forcing the BSA to allow them in instead of trying to get the GSA to change is just the easy way out.
