I personally would not. But several states are doing just that. Virginia comes to mind, it's like 48% republican, and 51% democrat. They are redistricting to make it so all but one republican senate seats are eliminated. This is effectively silencing 50% of their population. It's sad.

Other states have done similar to democrats. Both are wrong.
