I am an independent that usually votes Democratic. I voted for GOP's Reagan in 1984 because former Carter VP Fritz Mondale was a sacrificial DEM candidate then. Even I didn't want to go back to the Carter years and the DEMs knew they had no one who could defeat Reagan.
Locally, sometimes I do vote GOP. In my state of Missouri, you can vote for state judges. It's something I abhor, but I do research the candidates and, if I think they deserve it - GOP or DEM - I vote for them. But, for Federal office, I almost certainly will not vote GOP... certainly not local because they are all devout idiot Trumpster despicable quasi-felons like Josh Hawley or Eric Greitens. And, since the GOP doesn't have many sane people left, I don't see myself voting for them until the "RINOs" are in power again or form a new GOP to go up against the neo-NAZI MAGA sect.

I'm registered as a Democrat but only because republicans are nuts. I would agree with Repiblicans that local self sufficiency is something we should all strive for (i. e. reducing dependence on federal government) but I'm not super frothing about it - it's a lofty goal and it's important not to insist federal assistance be cut off prematurely.
But sadly this is pretty much the least of the republican priorities. Everything else republicans say is batshit lunacy. I'd rather the federal govern, ent give everyone a thousand dollars a day for the rest of eternity than do any of the nutso bullshit republicans spend 24 hours a day belching at each other. So, I'm a Democrat because it is the only feasible way to stop republicans.
Our voting system is different than America and we have to rank a list of close to 50 people spread between 2 major parties (about 20 each) and like 3 or 4 smaller parties (the rest). I try to research the people and rank according to my opinion and I do go between different parties eg I give first vote to party A but 2nd and 3rd to B then back to A and so on.
I never cared about the democrats until the republicans began openly supporting racism, humans are created in the image of God and including and protecting and considering them is a privilege and a sacred duty. All cultures and races and colours are beautiful.

I have voted for candidates from the opposing party on several occasions.
In most elections, I've voted for candidates of BOTH major parties; I have NO sense of "party loyalty", and think that in general, we'd be better off without them (not that I know of any way to actually REMOVE them that wouldn't just make them unofficial).
You make a ballot that doesn't LIST a candidate's party, and I'd be STRONGLY in favor; make people do at least a *little* bit of research. You pick candidates based on qualifications, character and positions on the issues. Sometimes, prioritizing each, you might want to pick three different candidates. Jimmy Carter was a horrible president, but I’d rate him number one in character of any president in my lifetime.
Sometimes you have to hold your nose and vote for the ass hole who is more aligned with you on the issues. I know many Trump voters who did this. I don’t know if too many people who voted for that senile idiot who replaced him actually thought he was a good choice, or just less repulsive than Trump.I don't belong to a political party. And I don't understand why anyone would. Vote your values, vote your beliefs, vote your conscious. . . don't vote for a person or a party.
I’m a far leftist, so to me the Democrats and Republicans are nearly the same except on some social issues, I guess I’d be open to voting for either, but I doubt they will present a candidate that aligns with my values
I don't go by party allegiances. I vote for whoever I think is best at the time (even if I later dislike them). I voted for Obama twice, and voted for Trump twice (ideally wanted Tulsi Gabbard, though).
So yeah, I'd vote for whoever sucked less.At one time it was a very remote possibility. After what I've seen over the last 15 years I can't see doing that under any circumstances.
But a lot of people do. Trump got elected in 2016 because of crossover votes. He got a very large number of Democrat votes concentrated in important states. It's very difficult to get those kind of details, but I strongly suspect he pulled the labor vote in the heavy union states.I vote for the retard who won't mess up my way of life directly. I will say since I have been able to vote, none of my votes have ever gone to the democrats and most likely none of them ever will. The only democrat I would have even considered voting for would have been Tulsi Gabbard.
Don't vote anyway but nope I wouldn't. If people were forced to vote it would always be my political align unless if our political align literally brings hitler back from the dead and is somehow trying to make him our leader lol.
But so far it's often their as bad as each other or mine is the less evil. But that's the reason I don't vote. Turdsandwhich or giant douche isn't a choice.Hell NO.
The last time I did was for Obama in 2008. I thought he would help finally end racism for good in the USA. Look how that turned out. Was one of the worst decisions of my life give the intersectional socialist coalition insanity he helped initiate and promote.
Only if I'd been drinking heavily and couldn't see the right box to tick!
I used to cross party lines, but at this point, it's almost impossible to do so. I'm an independent. I voted for Dems sometimes, and Repubs sometimes. But the last Republican Senator I voted for turned out to be a fucking suck up to Trump, and Bush before that, and I was sickened by it.
Now, I don't like the Dems and I fucking HATE the Repubs. It's a sad state of affairs in the USA. Pretty much every candidate is a piece of shit, no matter the party. In some cases.
Mayor of my home city is doing a good job in my opinion, and I can see the city has been changing for better with him in the office. I don't like the positions of his party and I wouldn't vote for them in presidential/parliment election, but in this case - yes, why not. He's doing a good job and also he's not an extremist when it comes to world-view.
But I'm not American, so it's a different case.I have in the past, but I'll never vote for a democrat again.
I can't stand the Republican party. A political party of old outdated ideas and stuck in the past.
The Democrat party is currently a lost case.
I'm not voting for neither. When the Democrats go back to being decent if ever they do that then I will support them again as I'm a registered Democrat, but for now both political parties can hell off.Yes and I have. Massachusetts is a deeply blue state with a republican governor. Statistically speaking democrats are more likely to vote republican than the reverse. I'm neither a Democrat nor a republican though.
I am registered in the opposing political party. It's more interesting, and how I vote in the general is "my and only mine" business.

The way that the Democrats are right now, there's really no situation that involves me voting for them, unless it's a Joe Manchin type.
If I believe you can actually succeed in getting me what I want, you have my vote. I don't care what you are.
