Why do so many Americans here assume everyone else is American?

I know im gonna piss a lot of you off here and i know your not all like this but im finding it incredibly frustrating on this site how many Americans assume everyone else is American and lives life like an American and dont really have any knowledge of how other countries run especially eourpean countries.

Its like hitting my head on a brick wall. This is why Americans get a bad name for thinking they are the centre of the universe.

I must have to tell someone on this site everytime I come on but im not American.

I even use words like "mum" and use the £ symbol when talking about money and literally say im British and I still get Americans assume im American because they are.

I understand its not as easy to travel to other countries outside America and thats why a lot of you guys dont really understand eourpean life but surely you know the basics. Like that a lot of us have free health care, different world leaders, dont live in states etc.

I literally spoke to American on here once who thought the prime minister of the uk was trump 🙈

You know, someone pointed out how european nationalism really feeds into those negative stereotypes that say americans are inherently worse than anyone from any european country. I can point you in that direction, if you want to see their full take on it.

Im on the app as you actually can't get on this site in the uk anymore over the Internet as I think its banned now like most things. there's also a lot of restrictions on the app for myself. I can't see pictures on here or see peoples profiles like I used too.
