Does common sense policy result in better or worse results?

USA has been a drug culture so long, it's marketed so much on the "mind programming devices", it sounds crazy to say something like below [reduce their usage]. Is your country as drugged out as USA?

It may be a shock to a lot of people... that they shouldn't be going to artificial drugs made from oil and prescribed by a trained drug pusher to solve deeper emotional issues. But it will be...

Now if they'd just come up with some low cost solutions people can integrate into their lives... or discover some old ones.

Is the result better... or do we end up with more "crazed depressed dangerous people"? If so, what do we do about them... sell them other drugs, give them other help?
