In general east Asian people have less body odor. Some countries made it a point to put people with basically no body odor in submarines during ww2.

This mutation limits the production of sweat in the apocrine glands, reducing bacteria-driven odors in the armpits and, potentially, the feet. Genetic Basis: The specific variant (AA genotype) in the ABCC11 gene is highly prevalent among East Asians, including Koreans, Chinese, and Japanese populations, but is rare in African and European populations. Reduced Body Odor: This, or other similar mechanisms, resulted in less oily, less smelly sweat in the armpits, and is widely believed to affect odor production across the body, including the feet. Correlation with Dry Earwax: The same gene variant (non-functional ABCC11) is also strongly correlated with having dry, flaky earwax rather than wet earwax. Why East Asians may have less foot odor: Because the same apocrine glands that produce smelly sweat in the underarms also exist on the feet, the lack of this component significantly reduces the substrate for odor-producing bacteria.
