Was Henry Nowak failed by police as well as his killer in this case?

Henry Nowak, an 18-year-old first-year accountancy and finance student at Southampton University, was fatally stabbed to death while walking home from a night out in Southampton on December 3, 2025.

When the Hampshire Police arrived at the scene, Digwa accused Nowak of being drunk and racially abusive. Because of these initial allegations, officers handcuffed the fatally wounded Nowak and began treating him. Shortly after being restrained, Nowak lost consciousness. Although an air ambulance doctor arrived to assist, Nowak was pronounced dead at 12:37

He was dying, placed in cuffs while his murderer was allowed to go free. He was later arrested for the murder, along with his mom for helping him escape justice..

Cuffed for the accusation of racial abuse, the police are just as guilty in his death as the person who stabbed him in my opinion.

Yes. What happened to him should require an in-depth review of the situation, actions of the police and corrective actions going forward.

He died because he was stabbed, his murderer simply told police he said racist things and they cuffed him and did nothing give him first aid. He bled out.

He tried to escape the killer by jumping a fence and was knifed in the legs and also the neck. All he had to do was say he said racist things and the police treated the victim as the criminal and he died.

Definitely failed by police. However in cases like these it is the administration that usually creates the environment where things like this can happen.
