6 dBecause men are expected to be experienced to provide the best experience and most pleasure to their female partners.
Every woman will agree that novice/virgin men are horrible at sex and do nothing for pleasure.52 Reply- 3 d
That is correct Sarah , you have to take the time to train us. Which leads to teen sex for both sexes. That why my opinion for sex education is that it needs to goal oriented with definite expectations of skill achievement., a lab partner and a practical final exam.

That said the stigma and difference in modern era is usually down to availability. Creating a indulging vs performing view.
For a woman to have sex she mostly just needs to be willing. Oh sure the quality of partner might differ but someone roughly as good looking as herself is typically available at the drop of a hat. Because of this for women sex is often like grabbing a treat of her choice.
If your average woman goes out and wants to have sex with an average man, would any of us bet against her succeeding at any given night?
For a man to have sex, she mostly just needs to be willing. Men's access is more limited and rarely if ever meets the demand. Because of this men end up seen as having accomplished something. They did not indulge but rather competed with who knows how many others and was seen as best that time.
Again now, if your average man goes out and wants to have sex with an average woman, would we bet against him or not on a given night?
So that's the gist I think of how it works mentally. Women are seen as taking something that is free. Often at the cost of another woman being unable to take it. Men are seen as getting something that had to be earned, typically making it seem like an achievement.
As for why it works this way? I'd boil it down to availability again. Last I checked every country on earth has more boys born than girls. While men die off faster than women it still means that in your normal dating range there is an excess of men and a lack of women.10 ReplyHonestly, it shouldn't really be encouraged or discouraged, but my assumption is that it's because girls are seen as more likely to "ruin their life" if they get pregnant as teens.
Obviously, it takes two to tango, and by rights, the father should be held accountable as well, but teenage boys generally don't have the ability to provide. So the girl ends up shouldering the greater portion of the responsibility, and faces greater repercussions over an accident than boys do.
It should be normalized to teach teens to make better choices, and protect themselves, to minimize mistakes, rather than praising boys and criticizing girls.

5 dI don't think there's that much difference between teenagers and adults. An adult women sleeping around still gets slut shamed while the guy gets a high five.
The main difference is that at a younger age, it's even more important to not get accidentally pregnant.

5 dIt's unfair, but there are greater consequences for a teen girl having sex... pregnancy, and potentially having to raise a child when she's not ready or able to do that.
I wouldn't say teen sex for boys is praised and encouraged, though it probably is more accepted.

4 dabout updated that distinction isn't justification for minors! tv definitely praised young men for the *acheivement! to get something difficult to get. guys praised-by guys get encouraged, but not if she is young!
but a gal might get pregnant so she shouldn't risk it! if she risked it, they shame her and call her horse. also from age 12 harshly discouraged her year after year because she is the one pregnant not him.

5 dSteph, it's that old vs new , morality. I suppose it goes back to when brides were sold. An unused female was worth more than a driven to church every Sunday by an 85 year old Widow. I don't get it and did not participate in it. Im mket someone ij loved and admired and married her. we are still together.
10 Reply925 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It is a cultural thing and I do not agree with it. I'm 21 and as a teen guy it was a badge of honor to have sex (yes even handjobs or bjs) and there was a lot of social pressure (in addition to being horny 24/7). I agree that girls may be looked down upon if they acted like horny teen guys even though they are just as horny. You make a great point. Maybe the boys should just jerk off more to chill out?
10 Reply2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It was that way even when I was a teenager!
I think that's why I stayed a virgin and the boys called me Miss Pride.
I wasn't ever going get my reputation ruined and be called a slut or whore.10 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)6 dIt's a double standard that has come from decades of inconsistent and poor parenting. It really should have been consistently shamed for both with both genders encouraged by parents to date only with the goal of long term commitment and not using someone's body or playing with their feelings.

Anonymous(45 Plus)5 dFirst off i wouldn't go as far as to say it's "praised for boys". But for the same reason showing emotion for boys is shamed and ACCEPTED for women. Like it or not, in 2026 there still ARE gender roles. Stray away from societal expectations and you WILL pay the price for it. Regardless of whether you're a man or a woman.

I disagree with your update, at least in part. Sometimes the girl really does want it, but other times she really is being taken advantage of.
5 dThe only people praising and encouraging teen boys for having sex is other teen boys.

5 dcause for younger girl it's very easy to get sex, while it is hard for younger guys. as the women get older, it gets harder for them so there's less looking down on it but for men it roughly stays the same.

5 dAs a general guide, everything that seems to matter a great deal when you are in school doesn't matter at all in the real world. I guess this falls into that category.
10 Reply 2.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Because parents don’t want their teenage daughter dropping out of school to take care of a baby, and they don’t wanna take care of that baby either
