Why has the United States been at war for about 90% of its history?

Many reasons but its usually to do with money. Even the current wars in iran and Ukraine you really just have to follow the money back to the US and you have the how and why.

The British Empire was no different, we forced the Chinese for instance to buy our opium because the trade was too lucrative to lose. If you can find a country in the World the British empire wasn't at war with or fought in you'd be doing well

It's profitable for those who control the government. The USA is built on a war machine, industrial complex. Even when it couldn't produce it's own weapons before the industrial revolution, the US loved to engage in conflicts and/or create them.

Thanks, but isn't it obvious? The US has also been involved in at least 14 regime changes in different countries using the CIA or other covert black ops to do it. This is all readily available information if you want it, but the US propaganda machine on it's own citizens is top tier.

It is obvious, but I think you would be surprised at the number of people who just outright deny it and pretend it never happened. You will find that from people on here as well as in the world at large. These are the same people who think that the USA is a wonderful, powerful country that does no wrong. They will say it right to your face, and they actually believe it, I think.

Well the reasoning is debateable. For the first 40 years. It was about keeping our sovereignty. The rest of the 19th century it was primarily manifest destiny. Anything after WW2 has been about maintaining our position in the world and R&D. Eisenhower warned of Military Industrial complex. But the reality is we're not do anything that any EMPIRE that has come before us has not done. We're just doing it with modern rules, standards, and realities. The world is not a nice place. Humans as a whole are not nice people. We can debate the semantics of how the United States does things. But the reality is there has been no country as force for good in the Earth's history greater than the United States.
