No. People are usually self-interested.
So they will side with whoever will fool them into thinking that they will make THEM more successful.
Obviously all the show of being "successful" is for the campaign. So it's really just a con.
See I don't get it when I'm telling someone about someone else who literlaly ruined my life I feel like that person takes the other person's side.
For the life of me I can't understand why.
People side with successful if it reinforces their view otherwise no, in fact if it doesn't reinforce their view or offer them something and they'll want to see the downfall of that successful one.
Creating the exact opposite reaction. As people love to see those fall from success also people have less sympathy for someone successful.
