On average, there are about 131 spiders per square meter of land across the globe. In highly favorable, lush environments, that number can skyrocket to over 1,000 spiders per square meter.

For every single human on Earth, there are roughly 2.8 million spiders.

Biologists have officially mapped and named over 53,000 unique spider species, though they estimate at least another 50,000 species.

Another interesting fact is that globally, spiders consume between 400 to 800 million metric tons of meat (mostly insects) each year. In comparison, all humans on Earth combined eat approximately 400 million metric tons of meat and fish annually. That means spiders eat up to 2 times as much meat as humans per year. Gotta thank them and a bunch of other insects for cleaning up the world, otherwise we'd be living in a world with piles of dead insects.
