Apparently Americans would say dah-tah up until Patrick Stuart showed you how to pronounce the word correctly on Star Trek.
Surely your language must be more firmly rooted than that.

We can't even pronounce the word "escape" correctly, we don't know the difference between "your" and "you're", we make up dumb@$$ new words for stuff every other week, everything seems to have some kind of sexual connotation or innuendo in it... man, we've even apparently got kids here who don't even know or respond to their own names because their parents buy them smartphones and tablets when they're five years old.
So no, our language isn't that rooted, I think.
And STOP CALLING ME "SHIRLEY!"
but online 'your' is easier to type. i did it recently instead of you're. not because it is the same but easier and sounds same.
i heard people say 'data' like the sound in 'had add that apple happen'. even educated people in computer world say that. the fact one letter seperated is not a cause to say sound 'ate late' because language is just the way people speak and many people say 'datta' without changing the spelling. even after i heard stuart/picard i and we still say datta in hitec!

We do not speak English, we speak American.
Hey Brit is it concerning not only that the states made the English language better but also has made far and beyond greater entertainment? Well except for that horrible Picard show.
You sound retarded. It's clear you have never been to America.
It's how Data pronounces it. Only an asshole would deliberately mispronounce it. The doctor who wasn't Crusher. Polanski?
Didn't realize most Brits still spoke English 🤔
