He also emphasized that he is not aligning with Democrats and said he is uncertain how he will approach future elections, framing his position as a rejection of both major parties rather than a move toward any alternative political affiliation.
Sounds like me and many people I know.
I voted Democrat from 1972 until 1997 when Clinton ran for his second term. He sold the U. S. down the river and that is when it became obvious that the Democratic party had become fully neoliberal.
From then on, I voted independent until Obama ran for his first term. I enthusiastically voted for him. Boy did he fool me. His campaign promises were lies and he turned out to be a rabid neoliberal.
I went back to voting independent in 2003.
I voted for a Republican president for the first time in my life in 2020 and then 2024 in order to defeat Democrats.
I thought Trump did okay in his first term but I am thoroughly disgusted with his second term.
I never had conservative values other than support for the second amendment. That's why I never supported neocon, authoritarian Republicans. But I realized that I could no longer support Democrats, either. They were just as imperialist, just as loyal to Israel, pro-corporate, aligned with the goals of the New World Order, and as hostile to the American people.
That's what happened to me, except I started out as a liberal.
I now have great respect for Carlson even though I don't always agree with him. He is no longer a partisan ideologue and has become a truly independent, courageous journalist. And his public voice is valuable.
