I don't mean to offend anyone, and I respect that politics matters to a lot of people. But is it weird that I have almost no interest in anything political?
Whenever a conversation turns to politics, I just lose interest and want to stay out of it. I don't enjoy debating it, following it, or even listening to long discussions about it. I'd rather focus on other things.
Does anyone else feel this way, or is it just me?

I quit watching TV about 6 years ago because all they had on was trump trump trump so I would come on here and there were 20 to 30 people and they all sounded like their favorite media news political analyst the left the right
Democrats Republicans Independence
And every single one of them would say the exact same words as their favorite news media person
And I realize these people were being brainwashed
I turned back on the TV and started paying to all media and how it was made
I could not believe my eyes my ears the things that people would say on TV
Everything was a manipulation everything was a lie or it was a way to make you think or feel I turned it off again and said that was enough
I would love to talk about politics but I won't I tried before and people don't understand there is no left there is no right there are people being manipulated strings are being pulled to say what they say for an elite group of people to run the country not politicians not regular people these people are puppets
There's two sides to one party to keep us confused there's only one party they have the same agenda just different language to keep us confused
So every once in awhile I'll say something but I would rather not
Until the world really stops and takes a look at everything my words aren't going to matter anyway so
I stopped talking about it sometimes I still feel the need to warn people but
I'm at the point people have to see it themselves to really change anything one day it will happen
But there are many many other things I'd rather talk about
You are a unique individual you are an empath you are quiet you see you feel things deeper the most people and you understand things deeper than most people you have insight
You know things before they happen
You are a leader not a follower when it's time for you to shine you will whether it's politics are making cupcakes it's not going to matter
Thank you so so much ๐ I really appreciate that
I didn't follow politics or care at all about it until Trump was running for President the first time. Because what he was saying during his campaign made sense to me and a glimmer of hope was on the horizon.
I felt safe and cared about during Trump's first presidency.
Then when Biden became president and totally ruined America 🇺🇸 I completely stopped watching TV because I didn't want that stuff from the Democrats in my brain.🧠
Then I became interested again when Trump ran again and I watched every one of his rallies.
I was actually happy for many months when he won.
But for the past several months, once again I had to disconnect from what was happening.
I think that it's normal to stay away from politics if you have no interest in it whatsoever, because after all, you only get to vote, and the rest is up to them.
It's gotten to be way too much to keep up with anymore, so I have bowed out gracefully from politics because I just can't handle the stress.
You're allowed to not be involved in it. Don't worry about it.🙂
i think its totally normal to avoid political talks (esp online) because people can get sooo angry, mean, disrespectful!!😵😵 but imho its still important to be educated/aware of politics because they have such effects on everybody's lives & rights!!🤔😲
You're right
I am the same way, in person and online. No politics and no religion talk. Too many people feel too strongly about it and too many can't handle any other viewpoints. Then they think if they argue with you they'll change your mind. Not worth it at all.
I totally agree with you ๐ค Thank you
I would argue that in a Constitutional Republic that relies on a Democratic voting process to run our society, all of us have a civic duty to educate ourselves on the issues and policies that affect our daily lives and choose what we believe are the best available people to carry out those policies.
If you fail to educate yourself and you detach from the process and don't vote, you have no right to complain about the outcome. And I have zero sympathy for you if your life doesn't turn out the way you want.
I'm sure my life is way more better than you can imagine
And you're OK living your life on autopilot letting everyone else decide what happens to you? OK, that's a choice. Go with it.
Reminds me of me actually. I was resigned and pretty much felt like it doesn't matter. They're just going to elect Hillary Clinton and we'll get more of what Obama started. More white men bad and anything that destroys white men... the us vs. them communist manifesto with a twist.
I went from being like you are now to feeling like there is a chance to going back to the 1980's and 90's...
Nuff said... I prepare for the feminists and their white knights to start ranting at me now because I said too much.
I can see why you feel the way you do, even if my reasons are different. For me, it's less about supporting one side or the other and more that politics just doesn't hold my interest. I prefer to stay out of those debates whenever I can ๐
Makes sense. I'still check out when I feel there is no mind changing going to come out of an interaction. Also life has more to offer than that. I'd rather talk about dinosours but it's the drug they're on and the only thing they seem to ask about on this site now. I guess a step up from "men should all die, the earth is flat, and meat is murder" that used to run the show before 2016.
You donโt have to talk about it or be interested but just be aware that they do matter. You may not mess with politics but politics can mess with you. If you ever wonder why things in your area or state got shitty well being informed via politics may clue you in as to why.
I sometimes wish i could go back to my days being more apolitical but i feel its my duty as a citizen to be informed so i know whats coming down the pipeline especially if its something serious that could affect either me or people i love and care for.
Something else ill say is even if people claim to not be into politics i can still tell what side of the aisle one swings through the things they say and are passionate about.
As someone who is twice your age let me say that when i was your age i thought you had to be up on politics or it was like you're being a lamb lead to slaughter. Well now that i am the age i am i think the people who avoids politics all together are the smart ones. People like to follow politics and think they're keeping up on things. But the reality is you only know what they want you to know.
I appreciate your perspective. I think that's part of why I've stayed away from politics. It often feels exhausting, and I'd rather spend my time on things that bring me peace. I still respect that it's important to many people, but it's just never been something that really interests me.
Inside a government of the people by the people for the people. your feelings of politics is equally considered as much as much as ever other citizens.
It is counted by a small number of billionair child rapist. If the billionair class can throw money to make the global population be apathetic of every day life that is ultimately the will of the people.
To get anything ever you want you do need to start giving a fuck at somepoint.
I get where you're coming from, and I respect your view. I know politics affects everyone's lives. I just don't enjoy following it or talking about it all the time. That doesn't mean I don't care about people or real issues ๐๐ I just choose to spend my energy differently.
normal for some. It's just conflict and opinions and you don't like friction.
You need to learn to be stronger, listen, ask questions and manage dialog. Learn how to be a moderator, and peace maker. That is the fruit of your pursonality once matured.
I get not wanting to debate it, though I don't understand not wanting to know. Because how can one date someone if you don't know where they align?
Could turn out to be a Nazi (Obviously an extreme example tho) or whatever and one decided to not know but later finds out when it causes issues.
I would want someone who aligns with me, they don't have to agree fully but more closer than less.
LOL, you are "politically blind" - it's not that you have no interest in politics. You don't know enough about the subject to have opinions.
You walk/drive on public roads? That's politics. You pay taxes? That's politics. You buy and sell taxable goods? That's poltiics etc etc.
Unless you are living alone in a hermit cabin in the mountains. You are always enmeshed within politics.
yes not caring is common and normal. avoiding topic will avoid losing friends!
Thank you for your opinion
If you have an opinion on everything, you're already a political person. But discussing these things seems to bore girls more; apparently they get irritated more easily. Wanting to be apolitical is, in itself, a way of living centered on consumption
True as it means you don't care what's happening to your country.
@Taranis_Thunor I care about the homeless people, I donate to a lot of charities and still do, I can about people battling cancer, I can about more important things than to debate about what political party would do better
@Veronika_p Then you care about the things around you then some distant political systems.
When I talk about politics, I don't talk parties. For me it's warfare to reclaim our civilisation from those who wish to destroy it.
You've trained your mind and body to respond only to your own touch while watching porn. The dreaded devils grip.
I had a problem where because id masturbated for years I couldn't cum with my wife through vaginal intercourse, anak, blowjobs etc. I could f*ck all night without coming and had to jack off to cum. When it came to getting her pregnant, I had to jack off to the point of orgasm and put it into her and give her 1-10 pumps to ejaculate inside her.
Woah ๐ณ
You're not alone.
I think people, especially on here arguing over which political party is better than the other or which politician is better than the other look like a bunch of fuckin clowns
๐ OMG, you cracked me up
That's because Democracy is a distraction for the plebs. Humans are supposed to overthrow tyrants through force. Voting just divides the culture and creates secular religions (ideologies).
yes as political talks can get very controversial
Exactly
Nowadays I always say there is no normal however having zero interest in politics is becoming more & more normal as I talk to people. As for me I can care less when it comes to politics & political talk as well.
Yes, it's normal and has it's pros and cons... You don't worry so much about that stuff but also you are less informed
I better be less informed that worry about other people (politicians) ๐
sure, that's your choice to make, not a problem :)
Thank you ๐
Yeah I mean that's normal. There are these underwritten rules that you shouldn't talk about religion and politics. But I love talking about politics that I never have anybody to talk to about them
It's normal, but be prepared that others will view you as you choosing to be silent on political topics they feel is important and will proceed to attack you as an evil person with all the nasty labels in the book. Sadly these days, politics are injected into places it doesn't need to be injected, and you're an evil person if you try to ignore it. A lot of it I blame on TDS which is a problem on both the left and the right for different reasons.
It's good as women don't usually care about politics as they're more social and domestic minded. Men tend to to dedicate themselves to a cause for their whole people rather then just their family.
Traditional women don't care about politics they care about their internal politics. Historically politics was symbiotic with warfare itself and I kind of wish it still were
No idea, I've been into politics since I got into the gold trade so probably like 12 years now
There are plenty of people who want to know nothing and defend their opinion viciously with toss off statements. This is Strategic Ignorance.
I can't blame anyone living in the US for not wanting to follow politics...
I used to feel this way, then got more political for a while. Now Iโm staying away from that again because you canโt fix stupid people
I don't think you can avoid it if you are active on social media
That's fine if you don't normally follow it. But just look up the candidates before voting.
I don't vote either
I think that's pretty common.
It's fine. Just please don't vote then.
I don't and never will, no president has won with a margin of +1 in the history of the united states
Thank you
Me 2. I hate to talk about it
That is both normal and probably healthy.
Sure, as long as you're okay going with the flow.
I despise politics and never discuss it.
it's for old men mostly
It's completely normal.
At this point yes
Many people do
