Is teaching kids political beliefs any different from teaching them religious beliefs?

I have two young kids and I am going to teach them left-wing political values and beliefs. I want them to be anti-MAGA because I disagree with most of their beliefs. I am also Christian, so I will teach them Christian religious values and beliefs. I want them to be anti-Muslim because I disagree with most of their beliefs. Is there any difference between this? I don't think there is because it's all just beliefs.

It is totally different. Teaching kids the "right" beliefs is different than teaching them "wrong" ones. The latter is called brainwashing!

It's different because political questions can be argued from data. Reasonable people may disagree. Of course today we have one side that rejects all disagreeable data no matter how reputable the source.

There’s no difference. If you refuse to expose them to alternative views because of your beliefs, it’s indoctrination. To be fair, you should teach them all relevant views and let them choose for themselves what direction their life will take.
