Russia is the Muscovy region and region around Saint Petersburg, everything else is periphery. If 2,3 millions Churkas* get slaughtered in Ukraine, people in those two major regions don't care, they aren't affected with that but deep strikes that destroy fuel supply affect them.
Now some Russians woke up and noticed their country is at war. Together with higher electricity, natural gas bills, present internet censorship and blocking** and high food prices, disappointment about Putin's " 3 days special operation" effort rises.

* Churka are people from poorer Asiatic regions of Russia.
** Russians who speak English and want read what happens outside their tight propaganda bubble need VPN tunneling to exit nodes outside Russia to use normal internet.

Defeat? The war is ongoing. But I agree over 300,000 deaths to gain little ground is extreme.

Trump just gave Ukraine what they need to build the patriot missiles.

So once that is finished being made Ukraines military is going to take over their air space and blow up all their defenses and Putin has to surrender or use the nuke.

I doubt Putin will be forced to surrender, but it will change the dynamics. Ukraine could realistically go on the offensive

I mean Russia always sucked at war too. Like even against Napoleon Russia was still getting assessed kicked he lost due to being unfamiliar with the environment and the harsh weather.

Russia usually only wins with underhanded tactics or some kind of gimmick like cold war tactics. They never been too good at conventional war.

They even paid a shit ton money capable for mercenaries from country and they still can't defeat them.

I don't know about that. They didn't become a major power for no reason. But yes, they've historically had some very costly campaigns that would make other nations blush.

i agree many defeats and lost battles. and embarrassing exposed weak equipment and failed people. but russia can continue forever not 'defeated'.
