People who think someone is lying for not ever wanting a romantic relationship or not wanting one for the rest of their life/or don't ever want kids are projecting most of the time. Just because you want that doesn't mean everyone else does. People are different.

Some people for sure are happier alone and kids are not for everyone, but it's something people think they'll change their mind on. People just find the idea of being alone forever depressing for the most part so they find it hard to believe anyone would choose that, at least forever. But why worry about if other people believe it? If you do, then go ahead with it. Other people's opinions about your wishes are ultimately irrelevant.
