I can be casually date a guy, but not be ready for a serious comitted relationship, but I'd never see any other guy but him.

So some people may not be ready for a serious relationship, but that doesn't mean they'll see different people.

New relationships are relationships. A teacher and student has a relationship whether they are close or not... not to mention the term ""new" is fairly subjective.

I think we will have to part ways on your question. The question is pointing towards a romantic relationship. If one person is not committed to that new relationship, they should be forthcoming telling the other individual. If they choose not to date other people, that is their choice. There is a definite distinction between two individuals who are entering into a relationship versus one individual who wants a relationship and the other who is not ready to fully commit. The individual who does not want the fully committed relationship does not have to have a desire to date somebody else. Cheating is black and white with no gray area.

Anytime you're exclusive with someone then you're committed to that person whether they want to admit it or not is something else and they are definitely lying to yourself if they think otherwise

Cheating is breaking the terms of a relationship, 7t doesn't have to be about sex nor does it have to be between people romantically involved the way I see it.
