The new U. S. tariffs target 60 trading partners took effect on Friday, replacing an expiring global duty rolled out by President Donald Trump earlier this year. The range from 10 percent to 12.5 percent and impact economies like China, India and the European Union.
The USA has had a forced labor import ban for nearly a century, and now rigorously enforces it. So do you hate Trump and accept slave labor to keep stuff you want to buy cheap to oppose them? Sure you do.

I don’t shop by price per se. Either i can afford something or i can’t. When i shop, i look for “made in USA” first. If i can’t find a USA made product, then i shop fair trade companies.
Of course i own a few things that aren’t fair trade, we all do. Whatever device you are accessing G@G from is most likely made with forced labor or extremely poorly compensated labor.
If we’re fortunate, Drumpf’s tariffs will inspire US entrepreneurs to invest in a new manufacturing base where anything and everything we could ever need or want is made right here in the USA. Unfortunately that also means that many employers will have to raise their wages so that everyone can afford to buy products made in the USA with fair trade practices. We can’t deliberately keep people in poverty AND expect that they can afford to pay what “made in USA” typically costs. It would also be helpful if the capitalist pigs stopped paying themselves MILLIONS for their own “contributions” to any given company’s function. But we know that’s never going to happen.
I like to remind conservatives that Henry Ford took a novel and public stance on paying his people fairly. He insisted that his employees be able to afford the products they were making. There are a lot of employers now who are all too happy to pay their help so little that they have to apply for government assistance. It’s interesting how many conservatives are up in arms about people collecting government handouts, but think that business models that rely on it are “just good business”.
You shouldn’t talk down your nose at other people’s hypocrisies until you have thoroughly examined your own.
Well here is my take. Cut through the all the BS, look into the reality…. Almost every country had tariffs on the U. S. for ever and we just lived with it. Trump is the first president that had the balls to do something about it. The goal is to have fair trade, but these other countries don’t want the competition of US companies in their countries but want to sell us their goods. I know it jacks up the prices of goods coming in from outside of the U. S. and that sucks. But what needs to happen is we build it here or they lower their prices. In the end tariffs could be good for us, it might hurt a little at the beginning.
In 2020 Canada sent 600 firefighters, aircraft and equipment to help with California forest fires. Last year Canada sent 250 firefighters along with aircraft and equipment to help California put out their forest fires. In 2026, Trump slaps 50% tariffs on Canadian goods because Canada has forest fires. With friends like that, who needs enemies

Yeah.. import taxes on EU, which has way stricter labour protection laws than the US, because of forced labour... You can't make this shit up.

it must be good because many countries charge tarriff. i don't see europeans protesting their own tarriff 'is on the european buyer' as we see online anti-trump say. tarriff must be good. unless both countries agree to lower tarriffs on each other! you lower yours to 2% we will lower our new tarriff!
Trump's policies are bringing manufacturing jobs back to America and bringing foreign investors to build new facilities in this country instead of shipping the jobs overseas.
I'm in alaska and if Canada puts a toll on the ALCAN Highway our usa global security is extra fucked.
