If you hung out with someone who didn't have friends, and then you found out why they didn't have friends, what was the reason?

I have a family member who has no friends. He used to have lots of friends but he cut ties with all of them because they were living a lifestyle that he didn’t want anymore and felt they were holding him back (all they wanted to do was partying, drinking, drugs). Now he doesn’t want any new friends. He’s introverted in the sense that he enjoys peace and quiet and his own company. However he has no problems getting friends and people naturally are drawn to him. He doesn’t like it because he feels anywhere he go he gets to know people as they come up to him and talk. He’s confident and has good social skills, but just wants to keep to himself. So he often don’t want to go into town at all because he doesn’t want to see or talk to people he knows.

I also don’t have any friends but for me it’s because I have social anxiety.

I am that guy with very few friends. By choice. Lifestyle and personality. I have moved around constantly and I'm an introvert. I screen people very carefully before lowering my walls. I'm not shy. I'm analyzing you.
