If you lost your memory, who would you actually trust to tell you who you are?

Nobody in particular. Because at that point if its true and complete memory loss what difference does it make? Its not like I remember anyone so how would I know who the trustworthy person is?

I assume that within me those aspects they tell me feel right or wrong and hopefully the memory loss would not be permanent. If I do remember a person then that would be the person I trust.

I did lose my memory. About 6 years. Most of my daughters life at that time. I just stayed quiet and didn't tell anyone that I didn't know them. They all told me who I was through stories. I don't think I have my memory back to this day I just remember myself how they told me it happened and I moved on. Only one person noticed anything was off.

It is strange when people lose their memory they still remember what things are called but not what people are called. My mother was known to me as mother before the concept of "human" was known to me and before I knew what a tree was. So how someone could forget their mother but not what a tree is I don't know.
