Your timeline is about to be full of videos of Moroccans "invading Spain" with captions like "this is what happens when you vote socialist" and I need you to pause before you share that garbage.

Ceuta is not in Spain.
It's not in Europe.
It is physically, geographically, on the continent of Africa. On Moroccan soil. Taken from Morocco in 1415 — before Columbus, before the Inquisition, before Spain even existed as a unified country.
Spain has a colony in Africa in 2026 and nobody wants to call it that.

"This is what happens when you vote socialist." No. This is what happens when you colonize a piece of another continent and hold it for 600 years and then act shocked when people from that continent walk into it. The Portuguese crown took Ceuta in 1415. Spain inherited it in 1668. And never left.
So when you see Moroccans swimming around a fence to set foot on *their own continent* and someone captions it "Muslim invasion" — the irony is so thick you could build a border wall out of it.

About 2,000 people crossed into Ceuta in the last ten days. Spain's far right is foaming. American accounts are already repackaging the footage for people who will never google where Ceuta actually is.

You want to know what actually triggered this? Spain's own Supreme Court just ruled that migrants intercepted at sea near Ceuta can't be sent back to Morocco. Not socialism. Not open borders. A judicial ruling by Spain's own judiciary. But that doesn't fit in a rage-bait caption, does it?

Morocco has claimed Ceuta for decades. The only reason there's an EU border there at all isn't geography — it's because a European empire took a piece of Africa and never gave it back. And now they're mad that Africans keep showing up to it.

I don't disagree with you, but this situation in Ceuta and Melilla has been going on for centuries, as you rightly point out. The real problem is: what do you do with 60,000 mainly young men (most women and fathers with kids who crossed the border have now crossed again into Morocco) who roam the streets, are thirsty and hungry and have nowhere to go? Most of these men, if not all, don't want to be in Ceuta, or even Spain for that matter. It's a first step in their quest to reach France, Germany or further up north. Most will tell you they are pursuing a dream and that this is not what they expected. And if the situation is not adressed firmly by the Spanish government, it's going to turn nasty very soon. I hope I'm wrong. All shops, gas stations, bars were closed and the few that opened were robbed.

Another question: what to say about a country, Morocco, where people are so desperate they want to leave at all cost? A leader who doesn't care about his people but only cares about accumulating more power and more wealth for himself and his immediate family? That's the root of the problem.

Lastly, where do you draw the line? Didn't all countries at one point in history belong to another population? If we go back 500 or 600 years, most of the countries as we know them today didn't exist. All are a result of migrations and invasions. So giving back these two cities to Morocco makes as much sense as giving America back to the native Americans.

It is still sovereign Spanish territory and there is no reasoning that a country cannot span continents because some do.

The law the Court based it's decision on provides for expelling individuals who overcome barriers. The court thought the sea was not a barrier despite a long history of the sea being regarded as a barrier traditionally.

Still the Spanish could just quickly add "sea and..." to their legislation presumably. Or bang up a sea barrier. Shark nets should work fine for illegals and a lot of companies make them so it will be cost competitive.

The truth is that the current socialist government a few months before put into law a plan to give amnesties to a least 1 million ilegals. This sends the message that you can ilegally go to spain and the EU & be granted citizenship.

It's hybrid warfare with refugees, the same type or warfare Belarus used against my country Poland. However we built a wall with checkpoints to all road close to border and closed border to Belarus for 3 days.
