A professor once told us that an academic acquaintance of his wasn't admitted to Harvard because he referred to his children as a son and a daughter. According to what he was told, that was considered "assigning a gender," and even parents supposedly had no right to do that.

This, and ideas like it, are what are being taught at your universities. The people who graduate from these institutions often see themselves as enlightened and "woke," while looking down on ordinary people as ignorant.

Wow. This post seems laden with questionable statements. I'll unpack as I go.

The Harvard story? I don't doubt you were told that story, but I seriously doubt that it's true. "This, and ideas like it, are what are being taught at your universities". A sweeping generalization that is ALSO not true. There are over 6,000 colleges and universities in the USA, with approximately 3,940 of them capable of granting degrees. Imagining that every one of them speaks univocally on gender issues is flat out ridiculous.

But since you brough up genders, perhaps you should read some of what actually IS being taught in biology and science classes in high schools and universities. You can start with basic stuff. You can find it here:

This is basic, entry level biology for college freshman who are non-majors in biology. Sounds like you need it. Once you understand that information, you can move on toGenetics: A Conceptual Approach This is more advanced and for those intent on earning a degree in biology.

Rather than engage with you about what you consider "wokeness" to be, which I can already tell you have ZERO understanding of, I'll just leave you with this:

There's no argument from me that compulsory education in the USA is a full blown indoctrination system, but that's because of the lies and propaganda you get told involving history and government, along with the required reading to further instill that propaganda. To make matters worse, the list of banned books keep growing as well, also reinforcing limited thinking.

However, STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) are different stories. You can politicize some of the science, and you can choose to deny whatever you want in grade school, but by the time you get to a GOOD college or university, that doesn't happen. The other three areas are much more difficult to propagandize, so if you're trained properly, your mind will never accept the things you're suggesting.

In the USA, many colleges and universities have indeed because institutions for the elite, by design. Not all of them are like this. In the rest of the world where college education is free, you don't have an elitist issue. So I don't disagree with you about one of your points, but I also don't believe your professor's story, or where you seem headed about gender and wokeness, which is blatantly wrong in its assumptions.

Question for the normal people out there…. How many “trans” kids do you know?
I know zero, BUT So many Hollywood actresses and actors have trans kids…. Why is that? Cher, Jamie Lee Curtis, Robert DeNiro, Charlize Theron….. the list goes on. Why so many all in one place, Hollywood?

These people argue that we are born without a gender and that it is up to each individual to decide what their gender is. Setting aside whether that claim is true or false, even if we accepted it, a person would still need the legal and cognitive capacity to give informed consent before making such a decision. That threshold should be the same as the age of sexual consent. Therefore, there is no such thing as a trans child

They tried that with MAPs (Minor Attracted Persons) which was part of the + for a brief period a decade ago. They were over boiling the frog (moving too far too quickly) though so were quickly scrubbed out to reduce backlash.

It's crazy so many people assume children are not capable of grasping their studies (math, science, reading etc), and can't handle their emotions or know how to live a structured life. Yet, we expect them to definitively grasp the complexities of sexuality and gender.
