Unlike in the US, they have this amazing law that if they're doing a shitty job, they can fire their ass. They seem to never learn their lesson though and keep voting for the same shitty party. That's also an issue in that you vote for the party and the party picks the candidate.
I didn't know anything about UK politics but I would guess it's because people get unhappy with the current prime minister and think that a change is a good idea. Be glad that you can do that and you don't get stuck with somebody like we here in the US do.

except... prime ministers can be kicked out much easier, and way faster...
Economy is stuffed. Brexit was a disaster. Migration is stuffed.
Oh, and NHS is stuffed.
