What is a "true" Christian? Every Christian denomination and sect claims to be the one, authentic, version of Christianity, even though many disdain other forms of Christianity.

Many denominations support LGBT rights.

United Church of Christ (UCC): This mainline Protestant group has ordained openly LGBTQ+ pastors since 1972 and celebrates same-sex marriages.

The Episcopal Church: This branch of Anglican Christianity allows same-sex marriages and places no ban on LGBTQ+ individuals serving as priests or bishops.

Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA): This Lutheran group uses the "Reconciling in Christ" program to mark congregations that are fully open to LGBTQ+ members.

Presbyterian Church (USA): This denomination changed its rules to allow gender-inclusive marriage ceremonies and full inclusion in church life.

Christian Church (Disciples of Christ): A regional and national assembly that voted to welcome LGBTQ+ people into all areas of church leadership.

Metropolitan Community Church (MCC): Founded specifically to minister to the LGBTQ+ Christian community, holding a long history of advocacy and inclusion.

Alliance of Baptists: A progressive group that split from mainstream Baptist conventions to support full rights and inclusion for LGBTQ+ people.

Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).

Unitarian Universalist.

Pope Leo XIV (2025–Present) echoed Pope Francis’ message that "all are welcome", stressing that individuals are invited into the Church because they are children of God, although he stated that it is "highly unlikely" core church teachings on marriage and sexuality will change, reaffirming traditional doctrine while urging a shift in attitudes toward greater respect and listening.

Can you be a true Christian if you don't? Christians should spread more love than hate and lay off judging everyone. You can support LGBT rights without condoning the lifestyle. Some people might think that's wrong but I'd rather be wrong being kind to people.

LGBT people yes. Rights? It depends what you mean by "rights". It should SELDOM come up. Why? Because what a gay person does is their business. I don't think the gay community would be coming out of the woowork to condemn me if i cheated on my wife. And the point is. Both are sins! And the only one QUALIFIED to judge sin is GOD. If a gay person is a Christian and they read the bible. They know it's a sin. They also know I AM a sinner. WE ALL ARE! That's the point. None of us deserve Heaven. It's God's grace that allows us to recieve it. So my only JOB is to be their brother and assist them if i am able.

Matthew 22: 37-39 "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind."
"This is the first and great commandment."
"And the second is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

The book of Matthew makes this pretty clear. Love eachother and love God. And leave the judgement to God.👍

There's a lot to unpack, Christ taught acceptance, love and tolerance, he didn't specify any group or individual who was beneath him. The old testament is clear that homosexuality is a sin, but so are a lot of other things including eating pork, that Christians say that Christ fulfilled and are no longer relevant.

Here's the deal as clear as I can put it, hate the sin, but love the sinner. It is not our job to judge. There is no room for bigotry or prejudice in a Christians heart.

But the old testament is clear. You decide.

i can distinguish between 'rights' like tax as a couple or right to do a wedding ceremony, that i support if they do a wedding. those separated from the actions they do. they can be included in president cabinet as trump did. first. no so called liberal was liberal enough to include gays!

Nope. It's contradictory to the bible. You can be sympathetic for the person living in sin and help them see the light, but Christians are in no way expected to support it. In fact, fighting against it is the most Christian thing a Christian can do. If you believe the Bible to be correct, then lgbt will go to hell. What would it say about a person's character if they were ok with another person going to hell?

If you can be a true Christian and have premarital sex, then yes. People pick and choose which parts they like and which parts they don’t and still call themselves true Christians
