Is it a SHAME to rename Lake Ontario, HOMES no longer works?

[AviatorTom]

Every child learns to remember the names of the Great Lakes of North America with the word HOMES, for Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior.

Renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America makes the memory cue HOMES no longer work.

Instead, SHAME, for Superior, Huron, America, Michigan and Erie, becomes the way to remember the names of the Great Lakes.

HOMES to SHAME, what do you think?

The comments on this question are further proof that the majority of people just read the question and not the details.
Only a few have noticed the memory cue of Great Lakes names has to change now, from HOMES to SHAME.

Great news: it’s absolutely STILL Lake Ontario. Just like it’s still the Gulf Of Mexico. Executive Orders are not law/they are merely directives given by the President extending only to arms of the Executive Branch. For example, the President can sign an executive order for the FBI to focus on international terrorism threats or something like that. Executive Orders are directives for how executive branch agencies do their jobs. The most important point: Executive Orders ONLY extend to executive branch agencies. They basically just tell “the President’s men” how to do their jobs under said President; setting a tone or mood, if you will.

Just randomly deciding to call longstanding geographical locations something different out of spite for a neighboring country is NOT covered. There is no Lake America in existence😂

[exitseven]

The dept of the interior has changed all thr official maps to reflect the new naming convention. They don't have to like it but it is the new name.

[WhiteSteve]

@exitseven Exactly my point. The Department Of The Interior is just an entity of the executive branch of the U. S. government. This can be wiped away with the stroke of a pen by a subsequent president. And no one else is observing it but us, so we just look immature, in both pettiness and in performative nationalism. Changing a sign and a map doesn’t do a whole hell of a lot. These are all just words in the wind.

Wake me up when he signs an executive order to his DOJ to release the unredacted Epstein files that he literally campaigned on releasing on Day One; do that, with no male names blacked out. No one forgets. Through all of this other bullshit, no one forgets. Sure is weird how much the energy changed on that in their camp, though; and the constituency followed suit. I’ve heard more about releasing UFO files, for fuck sake. New AG had a very dismissive and disrespectful meeting with Epstein victims. It’s a joke. This is the lowest behavior I’ve ever seen from our government, that was publicly visible, anyway. But I can’t imagine this still wouldn’t be at or near the top; this is a horrific crime network and coverup. Even worse if the rumors are true about all the people currently in the White House who are tied in, up to Trump himself. And I don’t want to hear “Trump can only do so much” in the same conversation as talking about this jabroni trying to rename long-agreed-upon geographical locations, lmao

Call it Lake America all you want; but it’s silly as fuck, fit for a toddler, and it affects nothing meaningful in our lives or our nation’s well-being. Buy a couple extra “Lake America” t-shirts in case the current one wears out or gets stained, because you won’t be able to find them by the next Winter Olympics😂

“Executive Order”, just lmfao🤦‍♂️🤣

[AviatorTom]

@exitseven Google Maps has also changed the name, but apparently only for us Americans.

[exitseven]

It will be known as Lake America to anyone of consequence.

[WhiteSteve]

@exitseven

[Danzigdawson]

@exitseven No one is calling it that except for you and the few hundreds of morons left in the movement.

[exitseven]

I was going to sit down and come up with a way to remember the new Great Lakes but you beat me too it. SHAME works for me.

[loveslongnails]

Quite appropriately, don't you think? lol

[strateguy632]

You are always briliant! Like shame on ontario premier. 🥇👍 i confess i have hi inteligence and probably social aspurger but you are just intelect and more than mine.

[exitseven]

@loveslongnails yes, it's a shame Canada is so stupid.

[loveslongnails]

Right... lol, the US is the brilliant one in this equation. LOL

[exitseven]

@loveslongnails I would not get into a trade war with the US

[loveslongnails]

What does the US have that Canada can't get anywhere else? LOL Jack Daniels? Cars?
The US needs Canadian oil and lumber, and now wheat because yours is full of poison. Even if they replace the oil with Venezuelan sludge, Canada now has a direct and easy pipeline to China, Japan and the rest of Asia. They don't need the US to refine a thing.

I wish you actually were in charge of trade negotiations. The US would fall apart even faster and your admin would be replaced.

[exitseven]

@loveslongnails If they think that they will get a better deal from China thay are stupider that I thought. They will end up as part of the CCP withing ten years.

[loveslongnails]

You're really not the brightest crayon in the box LOL.

Oh wait, let's think for a nanosecond. The USA imports $421 BILLION dollars worth of Chinese goods annually, making it about the 4th largest overall import country, but the #1 largest for goods like clothing & electronics. This has been going on well over 10 years. Is the USA a part of China? LOL

The largest amount of imports come from Mexico. Is the USA part of Mexico? Next is Canada. You're just too smart for us, Exit. Too smart.

[canamlusciouslad73]

So dumb we don't blow Trump like about half of you Yanks.

[canamlusciouslad73]

@loveslongnails America will implode by, if not before 2040.

[loveslongnails]

@canamlusciouslad73 I was talking to Exit, not you.

[canamlusciouslad73]

@loveslongnails Sorry, loveslongnails.

[loveslongnails]

@canamlusciouslad73 No worries. You will never, ever see me defending any of Trump's actions regarding Canada, and will be hard pressed to find me defending a single thing he does. In the almost 6 years he's been President, I've agreed with his actions twice. Yes, TWO times only.

ELBOWS UP, Canada. You don't need the US as a trade partner; they need you.

[canamlusciouslad73]

@loveslongnails Was one when he posthumously pardoned first black Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson, who was railroaded into prison for violating the racist (anti-black) Ma (n) n Act circa 1915?

[loveslongnails]

@canamlusciouslad73 I wasn't aware of that one. I guess that's three then. The other two were when he grounded the 737's to have them inspected, and I totally forgot the other one. LOL

[exitseven]

Thanks for the MHO😎

[Screenwriter]

The shame is to replace the First Nations name of Ontario which represents the native tribes of the area as do most of the other names. It appears a ploy to distract as did the Gulf of Mexico idiocy and his feeling that he has to put his brand on something else, build an arch or he won't be remembered as a great man.

[katiesmuff]

It is still Lake Ontario for me and most of the US population and all the rest of the world.

There is only one person who thinks it has changed and that is the Fat pile of Blubber who is a Pedophile, Liar, Cheat, Criminal and useless piece of garbage trump. It will one day soon return officially to Lake Ontario.

[OlderAndWiser]

I am not in favor of renaming the geographical features around us.

[strateguy632]

But that should depend. Atlantic is not a country but china sea or japan or ontario is a LIE for shared international waters.
Same persian gulf is not owned by persia. It is a lie. So in transformer film changed it to arab gulf!

[loveslongnails]

Once the Mango Molester drops dead and we get a sane President in 2029, the first official order of business will be " undo everything Trump did", including:

* Rolling back the stupid name changes he put in place
* Get the park land back
* Get his name off any Federal buildings * Impeach and remove Thomas & Alito for receiving bribes, Kavanaugh for lying during his hearing. Force Roberts out.
* Appoint 2 new liberal leaning judges, leaving Amy and Gorsuch to suffer.

* If the adjudicated rapist still happens to be alive, arrest and try him for his involvement in the Epstein cases - all of the ones involving him.
* Seize as much of his personal assets that equates to what he stole from taxpayers and use it to get help to the millions of individuals, families and vets of all kinds who desperately need it.

Google may have changed it for now, but it's temporary.

[Lliam]

SHAME is a funny mnemonic for Trump's moronic name change. But I will always call it Lake Ontario, not Lake America. And I will never call the Caribbean Sea the Gulf of America. It is the Gulf of Mexico. Fuck Google maps and all those who go along with this Trumpian nonsense.

Trump has gone insane. He brings shame on the USA. He will be remembered for being as bat shit crazy as Emperor Nero.

[DryGermanGuy]

I’m sure that it still works, because outside of the cabinet and the last Maga rubes, no one takes Trump’s deranged ravings seriously anymore.

[AviatorTom]

@DryGermanGuy Google Maps for us Americans has been changed to Lake America. It does affect us.

[DryGermanGuy]

Only 2,5 more years of this circus. Stay strong.

[purplepoppy]

T'is a great shame all Americans must bare so a fitting memo it is. But don't worry no one else in the world will call it lake America.

[lightbulb27]

It should have remained Ontario and it will be renamed back in time. One can only guess if this is a negotiation point or to prod Canada because of the negotiations. ugh, this president is wearing out his welcome...

Lake Erie should be renamed to Mr. Big... or The Big Puddle, but that's another story.

[Anonymous]

Does Trump not care about his own reputation? I imagine doing this is annoying people in Canada.

[AviatorTom]

That's why he did it, to annoy the Canadians during trade talks.

[Opinion Owner]

I have seen this Canadian user on here and based on what he writes he seems to hate trump more than mark carney. I can understand why he feels that way.

[MrChinaski]

I'm surprised Trump firing three senior staff at Stars and Stripes for reporting truthfully on conditions on the USS Abraham Lincoln hasn't attracted more attention.

Dictators that shit on their own military tend to regret it.

[xawyx-3]

Yes, I believe so... it's called lake Ontario, for centuries... no need to rename it.

[xawyx-3]

I'm not from America so I never knew you call it "Homes"... but I get it.

[Cidknee]

No, it's shame on Trump. I think he's gone senile. Gulf of America and Ontario have been raped in my view. I thought he was trying but I guess not.

[Cidknee]

Not trying
*trolling

[loveslongnails]

You "THINK" he's gone senile? You're not sure yet? LOL

[jJanSmit]

This whole situation reminds me of something that happened almost 90 years ago in my part of the world, sadly

[Danzigdawson]

Where is this fabled Lake America you speak of?

[AviatorTom]

@Danzigdawson Lake Ontario (Trump has renamed it Lake America) is one of the North American Great Lakes, located between Canada and the United States, specifically between the Canadian province of Ontario and the US state of New York.

[Danzigdawson]

@AviatorTom Sorry, but unless trump emptied his diaper to create a new great lake nearby, the only great lake in the vicinity of Lake Ontario is Lake Ontario.

[NathanDavis]

only an absolute idiot would ever call it Lake America...

ironically, idiots with no SHAME whatsoever, as well

[andreasderjuengere]

Two more years. The next few Presidents will be quite busy to fix the disorder that was caused during the recent three terms.

Unfortunately it is said: ''shame lasts forever''

[strateguy632]

Not shame- just hamse i ate ham today. No joke! I really ate hamse today.

Jews used to say for the great lakes moshe!

[strateguy632]

Better yet "HAEMS 10 points is a VALID Scrabble Word in USA, Thailand, Canada and HAEMS 10 points is a valid Scrabble Word in CSW too.
haems are part of blood.
noun
(Biochemistry) a complex red pigment containing ferrous iron, present in haemoglobin. OR:
Ontario sure made hames to spoil the treaty through clumsiness or ineptitude.

[AgentG111]

If one president can rename Mt McKinley and then a country can constantly change its name and we continue with hyphens in race them absolutely change whatever they have been doing it before Trump was president.

[OneViewpoint]

Well, SHAME is fitting if Cheeto Jesus was involved.

[Cidknee]

Always with the display of hate! 😉 way to go.

[OneViewpoint]

@Cidknee ,

Yes, you filth are hated. Get used to it. You will carry your shame to your grave. Actions have consequences hate monger.

[loveslongnails]

@Cidknee Tell us, magat man - what exactly is hateful when you call someone out for their behavior and describe them accurately. He's got hair and skin the color of Cheetos, and he thinks he's "the Chosen One", if not actually Jesus. The hatred directed his way has been earned, and though we try to temper it, the task is overwhelming.

Need I point out that according to your book, even God hated some people, or do you want to argue about that fact being in the book too?

[Cidknee]

Let me tell you a little bit of maturity: If you can't say something nice about someone don't say anything at all.
In other words along your class.
Keep your big foul mouth shut!

[OneViewpoint]

@Cidknee ,

Fortunately, your impotent ass can't tell anyone what to do. That's been your entire life, hasn't it.

[Cidknee]

If you knew back in the day you wouldn't have any trouble following my last comment.

[OneViewpoint]

@Cidknee ,

@Cidknee,

"Back in the day?" You're 32 and your life is over? You're still reliving your high school glory days? You're a loser. No wonder you cling to MAGA and Cheeto Jesus. Your sad little life is going nowhere and nobody wants you. Nobody ever will.

[loveslongnails]

@Cidknee As I've told you before, tolerance of Trump and his vile ilk is what got the USA where it is now in the first place. Your anecdote for social interaction is not applicable to elected officials, especially the lying, cheating, conning, grifting, adulterous & rapist kind. Oh, oh... did I judge him out of immaturity? Or are they FACTS,, Cidknee?

The time to be quiet has long since past. If you choose to remain ignorant and think it's the polite thing to do, then do it. We don't give a FF what you think about us telling the TRUTH about your hero, or pointing out your book's contradictions. If you're not adult enough to face facts, don't engage.

[TonyMetal___1986]

Trump said that he's going to rename Earth, planet America and he's going to be captain planet 🤣🤣

[sage2021]

Yes. What is the point? 🤷🏼‍♀️

[msc545]

It's a shame that he tried to rename Lake Ontario because he doesn't have the right to do that. He does a lot of crap he doesn't have the right to do.

[loveslongnails]

Half of Lake Ontario is in Canada. I hope they rename it "Rapist Lake Is South of Us"

[Shiprex]

It should remain Lake Ontario irrespective of the deluded oaf in the Whitehouse

[_Jenny_]

@AviatorTom if Lake Ontario is changed to Lake of America then just remember HAMAS

[_Jenny_]

@AviatorTom if we get Greenland, what will he call it

[Snakeyes7]

I get that Trump likes to troll and all that but really? At least name it with something with an O like Ohio or Omaha.

[mrkdvsn]

I've never heard of "HOMES". But Trump renaming various bodies of water is unnecessary, and hurts foreign relations

[Hispanic-Cool-Guy]

No. If the lake originates in America then it should be named accordingly.

[AviatorTom]

@Hispanicpapi2025 If you want to use that logic, then it should be called Lake Canada, since most of the waters of the Great Lakes come from rivers in Canada, and all Great Lakes water flows through Lake Ontario on its way to the Atlantic Ocean via the St Lawrence River.

[canamlusciouslad73]

What's NOT up, HOMES?

[Dora86]

Ok can I get a country named after me next.

[slatyb]

It's utter silliness and will be reverted in 2029.

[FunkyMonkee]

There's always Shames.
