What would happen to the US if we cut all aid to all countries?

We give trillions of dollars of aid to 180 of the 195 countries on this planet. What would happen to them if we cut all aid, and became truly isolationist and shut our borders. What would happen to the US?

The US economy would collapse. We don’t produce everything we need for a self sufficient economy. Also, multiple countries would stop backing the US dollar and our debts would be called in. With literally nothing of value backing our currency, we fold. The only things we have to offer are foreign aid and military might. Unless and until we can make the domestic economy completely self sufficient, we are completely dependent upon foreign economic allies.

correct! trump kept proposing steep 40% to 80% cuts to traditional foreign aid. BUT Congress routinely rejects the cuts proposed by TRUMP. In the Fiscal Year 2026 foreign aid spending package, Congress authorized a $50 billion global foreign aid bill.
