21, latest. Not neccesarily a full-time job if they are studying too. But a permanent ongoing job and full-time occupied doing worthwhile things with their lives.

My son is 18 and he is working 30 hours a week. My daughter is 16 and she has been working about 6 hours a week for 18 months.

If you are 30 and have never held a serious job then you have wasted the most important decade of your career. The launch phase. It's harder to recover the trajectory you want to be on later.

Are they still in school? I remember when i was young my parents said that they didn't mind if i lived at home but i had to be either going to school, or if i'm not in school anymore to be working full time.

I mean i've worked since i was 11. But i don't begrudge a person for not working so long as they have a good plan. I would say your avg. Person is done with school about 22 to 24 though. If they're not working and they're not going to scool anymore, what exactly are they doing?

the people saying 21-22 are ridiculous. if theyre still in school especially. most college students are broke and the average 21 year old in school doesn't work full time. nearly impossible with school.

It is really depended on the person's situation. Someone that is mid twenties could be in med or law school, for example.

@KostasKouvalis kids need money. They start driving at 15 in the US. So they need gas money. It's called learning how to budget your time and meet your obligations. Plus getting work skills.
