Because women are the ones who have spent their entire lives being judged and reduced to their appearance. So when an ad leans heavily on a woman's body and sexual appeal it's not surprising that some are going to be more critical of it. The biggest issue for me is the context. Women who actually compete or work in sports have spent years dealing with sexism, sexualisation and being judged more for their bodies and appearance than for their athletic ability and skills. So seeing a sports-related ad lean into exactly that kind of sexualisation can understandably feel tone-deaf
And obviously some men aren't going to understand why women have an issue with it when they're perfectly happy consuming exactly these kinds of ads we're talking about. They're the target audience for this kind of sexualised marketing lol. Their reaction to the ad is naturally going to be very different from that of women who have experienced the other side of it
Be honest. If it had been Ashley Gragham...
@Just_Ken it would be the same…
Cause most of the guys who say they want traditional or modest women are hypocrites who love women that get naked in front of everyone at every chance, then they have the audacity to blame us for calling this double standard out. For me personally, I don’t really care. But I can see why professional female athletes would get upset over the sexualization of women in sports.
Its liberal white women mostly.
The ok has gone out to conduct a witch hunt against her because of the American eagle jeans ads. If it was an obese woman theyd be roaring you go girl.
Its kind of like that black juror that they are witch hunting.
There are women who work hard their entire lives that only get attention from their kids and sisters and Sydney Sweeney flaunts her body and gets a million times more attention then all these female engineers, professors, managers, teachers, wives, mothers, church volunteers combined. I used to dislike a woman who did 88% of the talking every time she was in a zoom group with 20 people, because she was stealing attention from people five times more righteous and decent than her.
Because a good portion of women are completely batshit insane. And no one hates women more than other women.
how ridiculous🤦🏻♀️
@itss_lily you’re right it’s probably the majority that are batshit insane.
no, your statements are nonsensical and ridiculous🤦🏻♀️
@itss_lily nah. They’re spot on.
They're jealous that they don't look like her
No idea. Idgaf
Make a male version. See who it bothers.
