A question for those of us born before the 2000s. Boomers and Gen Xers are also welcome.
For me it would be Hollywood's obsession with making death row/execution movies (The Chamber, Dead Man Walking, Just Cause, etc. although Green Mile was good). I definitely don't miss VHS or cassettes even if they are nostalgic, they were so easy to get messed up. And I'm glad the trend of girls wearing baggy jeans and big belts didn't last, although it's still a thing with the Korean girls right now, not sure if that's a Kpop thing though.

Cell phone plans that severely limited calling minutes.
Ex. You had 1000 minutes during peak (0800-1900 m-f) and X number of texts.
Then 'anytime minutes' (nights and weekends).
If you went over some plans charged you.50 to 1.00 per minute in overage fees.
And you ALWAYS went over. When you're a young guy about town doing what young guys do (women) that can hang you quick.

Maybe you can tell by my age (72) and being raised in San Francisco, California in the heart of the original hippie days, that I am an original hippie myself.
I absolutely loved hanging around the Haight and Ashbury district where all of the action was.

Yes, the perms, those are still around and very time consuming, I only know this because I was in cosmetology school and we were taught how to do perms and stuff like that. I'm so sorry about that, I am glad you found your hubby though, hopefully he treats you well!

Bad tv shows. I remember watching tv. We had only 4 channels at the time in the uk so you were forced to watch either bad soaps or bad commedy shows repeated endlessly like roseanne. I read a lot of books in the 90s and played a lot of computer games.
Roseanne was so bad.
Yes it was one of the worst shows. So was Friends, Frazier, and Seinfeld. Lot of great shows lined up for TGIF though.

Yiur American so you had about 50 tv stations in the 90s. We had 4. 2 of those were the BBC
limited trends...
back in the day there was much more limitation and exposure, there was actually ONE, MAIN, STREAM, and that was it... lol
everything else was... more of a scavenger hunt, underground stuff and very niche corners here and there
it's not perfect at all nowadays but I do like that there's so much more and many ways to find out about different things too...
The one thing I don't miss is Definity the slow internet. Everything else like the movies the cassettes I miss so much, like can we please bring back the cool, peace vibe. The nostalgia music, the bell bottoms etc. Sorry I am such a hippie at heart.

Yes I'm 21 born in 2004, I have always been very mature for my age. I had to grow up very fast due to my x military father (not going to get too much into it) but he was the cause of a lot of things. I am adopted and grew up with older parents who are a lot older and I grew up with a lot of the oldies such as the 90's and 70's. I have always enjoyed the older years, the cars, the music.
Cars and motorbikes without catalytic converters. 😷
Ooooh yeah. Don't miss that at all.
