If a child or minor is addicted to social media, should their parents be allowed to sue the platforms?

Should parents be allowed to sue social media platforms of their kid is addicted to social media and has issues with depression, anxiety, body image, and such as a result?

My first instinct is to say NO. My thinking and gut reaction is that if parents were the ones to buy them a smartphone or a tablet before they were 10, give them unlimited and unmonitored internet access, and otherwise neglect their responsibilities as parents, the case is flimsy at best.

But maybe I'm wrong? Maybe there's a legitimate case or something I've not thought of? I'm open to hearing other arguments.
