As an American, do you really drink wine with ice cubes or from a plastic cup?

I sometimes pour wine over ice; depends on the wine. I have friends who sometimes use frozen fruit to chill their wine. I have yet to try that.
The vessel in which the wine is delivered is completely meaningless. It’s silly to be precious about that, in my opinion.

I find most Americans serve wine in cups at private parties and private social gatherings but in public places and public parties, plastic cups might be the main beverage holder, to lower the risk of lawsuits from contaminated cups. For example, airlines and some weddings and social clubs will use plastic clubs. And it might be strange in certain places but I know more than one airline that will serve free wine when the plane is in motion.

If you'll forgive a Half-American (Half-Japanese), I do for the first round with some harsh wines (typically red). I need to get tipsy first before I go neat. I'm in my 40s now. This stuff is bitter and I need training wheels. I'll do neat on the second shot. Shot-shot-shot!

In my 20s, I didn't do. I could do tequila shot just right off the bat. Nowadays in my 40s, I'm like, "Are you all nuts? Let's warm up first." Then I warm up with ice and lots of water. Then 3 drinks okay, "Now I'm ready! Shots-shots-shots! Jagerbombs! Tequila! I don't even need lime or salt now. Gimme a round Single-Malt!"
