I'm currently pouring my beer into a thermos cup (not the little cup on the end of a thermos, but the cup is the thermos). It keeps it cold as fuck just like I like it, and I sip as I write this. I've been drinking this way for years. I've modified always pouring it into a chilled glass to this since the days I lived in Japan where I picked up that pouring habit.
Funny you mention straws and my true alcoholism is about to show. Yes I've done that. I used to have this thermos that the whole can or bottle would fit into, and I would use a straw to reduce the carbonation to avoid acid reflux. Now, though, the act of pouring it into a cup, a thermos cup, reduces a lot of that carbination. There is a reason so many people like beer on tap or draft better than out of the can or bottle... and only heavy drinkers (from my lived experience) knows exactly what I'm talking about when I say as to why that just might be.
I never use a straw. It's an unnecessary production of waste.
The surrounding counts. I somehow find it uncultured to drink my wine from a bottle when I'm in one of the better restaurants. And it's a strange idea, too, to have tapped beer filled into a bottle. Never heard of mixies coming pre-made in bottles, either.
In more informal or at home I have no problem to take in my beers from the can or bottle.
Coffee or tea: always in a cup or mug.
What I never use is a bucket, no matter how thirsty I am.
Either in a beermug or from the bottle. At home I use beermugs for everything except soda, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. So mostly fruitjuices, water and beer. When I am on the move mostly from the bottle or however it is served. Beermugs keep things colder for longer while being big enough to not get up for a new drink every other sip.
My husband always pours beer into a chilled mug for me.
I like pouring my soda in to a glass with ice and watch the bubbles fizzle as I pour the soda.
However, I'm flexible.
If there are no mugs or glasses available, I'll drink straight from the bottle or can as long as the beverage is cold.

I prefer to drink beer out of the bottle. When it comes in a can, it's better to pour it into a glass because the taste of the can can make the beer less appealing, but washing dishes is also not too appealing. When it comes to soda, you can't really tell because they are overpowered with sugar.
Well…lol.
I'm not technically of legal drinking age. I pour mine into a cup.
The question is not exclusively about alcoholic beverages, but i understand why you might catch that drift.
The bottle is going to be cleaner than a glass if out.
What do you mean by “out”?
Away from home.
Sometimes I drink from the bottle or can, sometimes I pour the beverage into a glasso or a cup.
*glass* (typo)
Entirely whimsical, or do you have patterns and habits?
Entirely whimsical :P
At home I pour into a glass. If I'm outside I prefer drinking from a can yo a bottle, just feels more dignified.
All that extra work? Nah. Beer tastes better straight from the bottle.
If i am outside, from can/glass.
If i am at home, then from cup.
I drink from the can if I'm just drinking one thing.
If I'm mixing things, I mix them into an apple juice bottle.
Depends on if I need to ice the drink, actually HAVE a cup available, etc.
I do both, whatever I feel like.
I shoulda known you were a willy nilly drinker!
I drink my soda from the can
Do you clean the rim of the can before you drink from it.
That should have ended in a question mark. Ell oh ell!
Always out of a glass.
It depends on the drink and occasion
Bottle, yes. Can, no.
Depends on the beverage for me
Bottles always taste better.
Straight from the original container.
