Are Indians and Iranians (Persians) actually from the same root?

According to this video, that seems to be the case. Plus, geographically speaking, a huge part of Iran aligns much more with South Asia than the Middle East anyway. So technically, Iran is more of a South Asian country, and its people share the same ethnic roots as South Asians. What do you guys think?

Yes, Iranians and Indians are related peoples; however, their kinship is distant rather than close. In contrast, Iranians and Kurds are closely related to one another. Collectively, all these groups are referred to as "Indo-Iranian peoples." While Iranians, Kurds, Zazas, Baloch, Ossetians, Lurs, Mazanderanis, and others are classified as "Iranian peoples," groups such as Indians, Bangladeshis, Punjabis, and Sindhis (from Pakistan) are classified as "Indic peoples." In terms of physical appearance, one of the primary differences is that Iranian peoples bear a greater resemblance to the white (European) race than do Indic peoples. For instance, Iranian peoples tend to be taller, have fairer skin, possess lighter-colored hair, and exhibit a wider variety of eye colors; conversely, Indic peoples generally have darker skin, black hair, dark-colored eyes, and a shorter stature. In fact, some Kurds are naturally blonde and blue-eyed. I live in Türkiye, where there are many people of Kurdish origin, and I have personally encountered Kurds who are blonde and have light-colored eyes.
