Are France’s protests driven by a just cause or other motives?

What is the purpose of the public protests that began in France? It appears that people are using them for other purposes, such as looting. In your opinion, what is the real purpose of such actions around the world?

It is general unhappiness that the capitalist promises are not being delivered to the masses while rich and powerful are entrenching themselves further into privilege and power.

When people decide to protest and manifest it's always the result of frustrations.

While many of those protesters are genuinely trying to draw the attention on some particular problems, others take advantage of the situation to vent their frustrations by causing amok, fighting and looting.

One of the main causes of all this lies in the human gregarious instinct, leading people to follow a few leaders, sometimes for the good, more often for the worst.

The real purpose of such actions is to protest. You can ascribe all sorts of nefarious motives to protesters, but in the end all they are doing is protesting and that should be sufficient.
