Do we still have “girl names” and “boy names”, or is all that behind us?

We used to be able to tell if someone was a boy or girl just from their name. Sure, Bobby could be a boy or a girl, but Bobby was usually short for Robert or Roberta. Johnny Cash famously reminded us that a boy COULD be named “Sue”, but he probably wasn’t to be trifled with on account of his bad attitude as a result of being teased about having a girl’s name.
Is that all behind us? Can you have an uncle Lacy, and an aunt Mark? Is everything better now that more names are unisex? Or should we go back to boy names and girl names?
