Are we really winning in the "Golden Age"?

Fuel prices here are hovering close to $4 a gallon here when regular unleaded gasoline was at $2.70/gal over a year ago. Shopping at the Food City grocery store, most items range between $4 to $5 each. For example, a frozen pizza from the freezer aisle ranges typically from $5-$7 now when I can go to Little Ceasars and get a "hot and ready" for that price.

Interest rates on homes have climbed to nearly 8%. Inflation is killing the average, everyday American Joe and Mary, and now inflation is outpacing wages. The Americam Dream is getting more and more out of reach. According to sources, the US Dollar has devalued over 80% since 1988.

Just when we thought prices and the cost of living is bad, now we are on edge with anxiety about our careers and livelihoods, whether our career will be automated by AI in both the short term and long term. Will we have to change careers entirely again? Will we need to return to some education program when we are already above our heads in student debt? What will be safe?

It feels like our efforts are never enough and, sometimes, in vain.
