I hope so. It is far, far less dangerous than alcohol, which is legal and rightfully so.
Weed also has benefits. After all, it is an herb with many medicinal properties. Yes it can be abused, but so can many other things. Its not deadly, though, and it basically mellows people out.
Making it legal would make it unprofitable for traffickers, dealers and gangs. And it would stop law enforcement from ruining the lives of people who just want to smoke a little weed. Criminal justice resources could be put to better use fighting more important issues.
